About Us
Nina, Natasha, and Tess, the Pets of the Day
Name: Nina, Natasha, Tess
Age: 19, 5, 10 years old
Gender: Females
Kind: Kelpie, Maltese,
Border Collie
Home: St. Kilda, Victoria, Australia

The three dogs before you are Tess, the Border Collie, aged 10 and daughter of the black Kelpie in the front who is now 19 years old. The little white ball of fluff is Natasha (of course), a Maltese, who was a ring in in the event of Nina's death for Tess. Natasha is now 5!!! However, Nina has lived on and on, in fact I have owned her since I was 9 years old and am now 28!

Nina is very much retired and all three have lovely chairs and couches to rest their weary bones on throughout the day and night. Tess and Natasha have never worked a day in their life but they are wonderful therapy and provide a good walk.

All three are just as much a part of our family life as any person and all have a special bond between each other and their human counterparts.

We all live in St. Kilda in Victoria, Australia near the beach where they take long strolls and get plenty of pats and cuddles sitting by tables at local Cafes eating the odd piece of toast and merrily wagging their tails.

I know I am biased but they are the most beautiful creatures with such calming natures and are always there when you feel like a cuddle or are feeling sad. They are there to greet you when you arrive and they look after each other when you're not there.

Nina arrived on the back of a sheep truck on our farm in South Western Victoria in 1978, about 3 months old and shivering in the rain. I got an umbrella and saved her from the rain while her mother (Winnie, a red Kelpie) worked Dad's sheep with her owner Jimmy. After the long wet day, the farmers returned and it was time to say goodbye to the black puppy I had fallen in love with.

I went back to the house and locked myself in my room in tears!!!! Suddenly there was a knock on the door and when I opened it there was my little puppy staring up at me...."She's yours Gen"...said Mum and so began a friendship for the next 19 years and who knows how many more. Nina has had 16 children....all working dogs for farmers in South Gippsland and Tess was born in 1987 and was one of the many puppies that we saw so much of Nina's nature in.

They really are the most special animals in the world, not only to our family, but to so many friends and relatives.
