This
is Vinny my very special one year old Chihuahua. Whenever we go
out Vinny sings his little heart out to everyone. He is the most
affectionate dog I have ever owned - he follows me everywhere.
Sometimes when I come home from work and it has been a rough day he
climbs up on me and "hugs" me with his little paws and leans his head on
my shoulder.
Chihuahua's are one of the
most affectionate breeds I have ever had the pleasure of owning!! If
Vinny could glue himself to me, he would. I also have two large dogs
- Bull Terriers which Vinny
mercilessly bosses around all day long. He steal their toys, cookies
and barks in their face to get his way! I don't think Chi's are
particularly nervous but they do have a tendency to shiver which makes
them appear that way. Chi's are also a little wary of children -
sometimes because of their small size kids tend to run right up to
them and squeeze them or just be a little too rough - but with the
proper supervision and showing children the correct way to handle such
a small dog Chi's and kids can get along just fine. Also I would like
to mention that Chi's are a little difficult to housebreak. Their
size makes it easy for them to go and sneak an accident in the house
without you catching them in the act. But with persistence and crate
training it can be done if you are constant and patient!! Also lastly
Chi's do have a tendency to be a little on the barky side - Vinny
barks at everyone in the street but almost everyone thinks this is
cute - he is defending his Mom!! But in the house they are usually
quiet little dogs just happy to sit on your lap or follow you around.
