Cassidy
is special to me because he always has a heart-warming smile that
lights up my life every time that I come home to him. This picture was
taken when he was laying on the front seat of my pickup last September.
Cassidy is typical of purebred Samoyeds; a happy, friendly, loyal
partner always ready to play. His full name is Inyo Kid Cassidy -- Inyo
is the name of my favorite county in California (maybe Cassidy is
smiling so much in the picture because we were up in the mountains of
Inyo county at the time the picture was taken) and the word Inyo means
"the dwelling place of a Great Spirit" and so that description fits
Cassidy just right.
Cassidy's attitude when he meets someone new is
"Hello, I love you, won't you give me a milkbone?" After the early
morning Northridge earthquake in 1994 that shook up a lot of dogs and a
lot of people, Cassidy's basic attitude then was "Hey, now that you're
up and awake, why don't you give me a milkbone?" I would recommend a
Samoyed to anyone seeking a cheerful, calm and loving friend on four
feet -- the first Samoyed that I met thirty years ago sat up as I
entered the room and raised his left paw to say hello and I have had to
be with a Samoyed ever since then.
