    Emergency!!! Wot Dog Is This????

    Hello,

I bought a puppy of some gypsys (ok, not the best thing to do but i did)
It is a mongrel puppy and was quite small when i got him. I have no idea what the dogs parents were!!! something like a great dane and a elephant i think!! seriously it is th biggest dog i can immagine!!!!
he stands 1 metre high at th top of his back. he has dark silvery grey hair about 4 inches long , has yellow/green eyes and ears like a wolf. he actualy looks like he is a massive wolf. he looked like a silver fox when he was a puppy. he is now 3 yrs old and stopped growing.

anyone got any ideas what this dogs breeding could be????? i am seriously considering that he is part wolf!! please give me any info or your guess what this dogs could be!!!! unfortuanatl;y i dont have a camera that can go with my computer else i would take some photos of him, im going to try and get one so i can show you!!

th good thing is he is gentle and well trained and i have a massive enclosed feild where i can watch him.

    thanks!! please reply!

love little critter (beki) and the unusual hound 'full moon'

Sounds like an Irish wolfhound or a deerhound mix, perhaps a lurcher of sorts.

Wolfhound (they were bred to hunt wolves, they aren't part wolf): http://www.centralpets.com/animals/m...gs/dog282.html

from the sounds of the size I was thinking Irish Wolfhound too. Do you have a picture so we can give a better opinion?

hi i think also wolfhound, since they are the tallest breed ever,

check ther pic if it resembles your dog

maybe the prick ears come from another breed but the rest seem wolfhound sized

he sounds massive. he may just be a mix of german shepherd and irish wolfhound. we could help you more if we had some pictures.

The traditional gypsy dog is a lurcher: a collie crossed with a sighthound (wolfhound will do). That could be where it gets the combination of ears and fur and body.
