Does that not cause any eating problems? Seems like they would want to correct it "sir jerk-ly"

Ohh my goodness!!! I would think Brandy would need surgery too! I hope that long tongue doesn't cause her any problems.

If those people don't get that poor boxer surgery on her tongue instead of cashing in on her birth defect then they need turned in for cruelty.
That is just awful that she has to suffer like that tho it really doesn't seem to bother her. Poor baby. I think she is beautful.

Believe it or not, I have seen that dog more then once. Every summer there is what's called "A Bark In The Park" held by a local radio station (WPLT, 96.3 the Planet) and they have many, many different contests and events. One of the contests is "ugliest dog contest" and that dog has won 2 years in a row When she steps onto the stage people are just roaring There is not competition

I didn't know that she was such a celebrity when I met her She was real sweet, but it's in the middle of the summer and she was panting and the tongue was just so weird

I agree with Staci, her owners need to find a way to fix her problem instead of cashing in on her brith defect. I think it is very sad How cruel is ugliest dog contest! Comes to show you what kind of owners she's got. This makes me sick.

I had seen the same show with the doggy on. It was on Ripley's Believe It Or Not. The owners said that they had been to numerous vets for the tongue and they all agreed that there are no medical problems with the dog's tongue and surgery would be for clearly cosmetic reasons. Watching the program, the dog seemed very happy. She could eat and drink. It was pretty funny watching her give kisses. And by the looks of her, she doesn't have any problems eating.

We also saw her on the Ripley's TV show, and actually, her owners seemed to love her love her love her. When she was a puppy, they were told that she'd "grow into" her tongue, but that obviously didn't happen. It's only during the summer that her panting as all dogs do in hot weather makes it stretch to 15 inches, I guess it's usually 8. But they love her just the same, despite the even-droolier-than-normal mess she makes! She is well-fed and well loved from the looks of it!

Not only, as Stenograsaurus says, can she eat and drink just fine - she's the only dog they know who can drink all the water from an 8-inch glass (if someone hold it up for her!)

They really did shower her with tons of love when I met them. The guy owner was so cuddly with her, not many guys from my experience show so much public affection towards their dogs, but this boxer's dad sure did.
