    Unique Event on February 20

    Just received this from friends.
Watch your watches at 8.02 on February 20 to witness a unique event.
    Marie

"Believe it or not, but 8.02 pm on February 20 this year will be an
    historic moment in time.
It will not be marked by the chiming of any clocks or the ringing of
bells, but at that precise time, on that specific date, something
will happen which has not occurred for 1,001 years and will
    never happen again.

As the clock ticks over from 8.01pm on Wednesday, February 20,
time will, for sixty seconds only, read in perfect symmetry 2002,
    2002, 2002, or to be more precise - 20:02, 20/02, 2002.

The last occasion that time read in such a symmetrical pattern
was long before the days of the digital watch and the 24-hour
    clock - at 10.01am on January 10, 1001.

And because the clock only goes up to 23.59, it is something that
    will never happen again."

I almost deleted your post! My apologies - Spencer

I love interesting facts like this. Thanks
for the info. I'll mark it on my calender &
be sure to take note of the moment in some special
way. Maybe light a candle & say an extra prayer
for all the dogs in Rescue to find their forever
homes. Wow, It really is an unique event if you
    stop to think about it...

Yes, that's really unique! I bet a lot of people would try and get married at exatly that time, if it wasn't in the evening! Let's all ligth a candle! No, two!!

"Does anyone other than us Americans read dates MM/DD/CCYY?"

That's a good question, SpencertheLion. I posted it on an international tibetan spaniel list....the NZ'ers, Australians & British on that list all recognized their own time/date format. There's also a couple of French people & a number of Canadians...it'll be interesting to see if they follow that format or the US format. Maybe the Canadians are the same as the US...?

Randi, I like your idea to do something special...like get married, right at that particular minute. It would sure make it memorable.

In Finland people read it date/month/year much easier that way I think!

A mere mumbledy-mumble years ago I was working in a corporation that prided itself on international sales. To reduce confusion in paperwork they insisted on dd (in numbers) mmm (alpha) ccyy (numbers). Due to language issues, I'm not sure it helped all that much, but it's fairly clear and I've kept it up. So Livvy's birthday is 11 Apr 1999; Cassy's is 11 Jul 1999; and today is 19 Feb 2002.

    For what it's worth...

Just to add to the confusion. The French people on our international Tib list said that they write the date DD/MM/YY. And a Canadian said they do the same...that is day/month/year.
Someone who works in the computer tech. field said that computer systems go MM/DD/YY...I think SpencertheLion said that.
Looks like US people generally do that, too...MM/DD/YY.
But one of the US people on that international list claims that the US military uses DD/MM/YY.
I have no idea if that is right or not.

Can't sneak nuffin past those Bunnie Moms!

Now Angles3 and Randi had a good idea ~
"Randi, I like your idea to do something special...

Well... *I* dint think *getting married* sounded like too red hot of an idea , so I just
Woke up the FurKids and dragged them out from under the puter desk and gave them an extra special *20:02, 20/02/2002* batch of {{Huggs}} and **Smooches** .

Cinder kinda gave me *the look* and seemed to be saying "You woke us up and dragged us out for THAT???"

Oh well ~ *I* felt good for doing it!

Thanks, all, for the neat post and great idea!

Ok, gotcha...I was gettin' skeered fer a minute! lol

*BLUSH* I just did a >blonde< manuever and I'm still recovering from it!

*ahem* to condense a long (embarrasing) story...I just poured a bottle of drano max down my bathtub drain (hadn't been draining right for the past TWO days)...welll...heh heh...lemme let you in on a lil' plumbin' secret...bathtubs/showers drain MUCH faster if plug is pulled (or in this case, the lil' lever is pushed DOWN)

Now you see why I was gettin' skeered....LOL
