Gato Mio (My cat)

[RICHARD]

The king of my home
is my cat.
He rules the roost and
that is that.

When he wants some food
He doesn't really ask
He just let's me know
It's one of my fatherly tasks.

To keep the peace
and and make him happy
I must serve those treats
and make it snappy!

The little things
That come to pass
Remind me he is
My pain in the A$$

A hairball left
On the floor
Those claw marks left
on the door.

The tufts of fur
scraped on my chair.
I get to work
Covered in hair.

That water dish
that moves about.
Water wicked away
in the tile's grout.

The knick knacks lost
to gravity
and all the canned food..
That he won't eat.

The scratches on
my legs and arms
Come during playtime
He meant no harm.

The thundering horde
in the A.M. hours
Of that noise
I will never sour.

He's just a cat
my live-in buddy.
Of elegance and grace.
he is a study!

And when I feel
really bad
He'll cheer me up.
"watch THIS Dad!!"

A daring leap
To the floor,
Or a hung up claw
on the door.

If it's been, one of those days
you would like to forget.
Any sorrow soon will pass
When you have a pet.

So listen here
To some advice
Improve you life
Add some spice.

Love your cat.
In every way.
It makes the sun shine
in your day.
