    Runaway bride?

Jennifer Wilbanks hit the road a few days before her wedding.

What would you do if you were left "standing at the altar?"

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    In a somewhat strange note..

There are theories that she was headed out to the 3rd annual California PT BBQ.

    Evidence?

On her way back home she covered her head with a BEACH TOWEL.....Think about it...What use is a beach towel in New Mexico???

    ---------------------------

I also found strange that she blamed a Hispanic man for the "abduction"...... She ended up in New Mexico......

Who would she have blamed if she showed up in New England?
South African? West Virginia??? The North Pole?

    Me?

I'll strip down to my birthday suit, run into Mc Donald's and claim that it was little green men that abducted me, abused me and dropped me off in Cucamonga, Cah lee fuh nee ah....

    A far more believeable story..

When I saw the news tonight and found out that the authorities have no intention of pressing charges against her the little "lie" I was furious!! I guess being the fiance of a man whose father is the Mayor has it's perks.

If it was any old Josephine off the street who filed a false police report, their ass would be in the pokey BIG TIME!!!

As far as her fiance is concerned, I'd head in the opposite direction FAST!!!

I think the least this family can do it give the police dept the $100,000 reward money to pay back some of the man hours spent looking for her..
I think there is a lot more to this story

OK, I can understand if she gets cold feet and wants to be by herself for a bit.

    the rest I don't get.

She goes far far away, not telling ANYONE, not leaving a note, not leaving a voice mail, not emailing, nothing. Nothing to say she needs some time alone.

She cuts her hair (so she isn't recognized from the missing persons reports pictures).

She calls 911 to say she's been kidnapped (false report).

She talks to police and FBI about her abduction (another false report).

Frankly, she needs to be charged. Though they say now they won't press charges, that may (and I HOPE WILL) change.

The groom needs to rip that ring off her finger and tell her to shove her lies somewhere the sun don't shine and walk away instead of being excited to see her again.

And I do think the least she could do is pay back all that money for the effort to find her, even though she didn't break any rules getting cold feet, she should be responsible for everything after she called someone to say she was abducted. The best she could do is have the reward money pay the people who went through the effort to find her.

I say charge her with something and bill her for all manpower and time that law enforcement spent looking for her and her supposed abductors.

Ok yes I would charge her for the resources used in finding her. I think she chose a horrible way to get out of being married. But I also think there is some reason behind her running away that had nothing to do with getting attention and if not for the lying about being abducted she did nothing illegal anyway. I thnk that we give too much attentin to these cases so there are going to be copycat cases and eventually it will lead to an actual happening that we ignore.

If we don't charge anyone else that commits a crime with the resources used...think hostage situations, real kidnapping, police chases, why should this woman be charged? Think of all the manhours that went into searching for each child abducted, and then the person is apprehended...that person isn't 'charged' with the resources expended. Sure, this woman is a liar, but, that alone doesn't change her situation from most criminals I have heard of.

I am all for charging her with a crime, as it appears she committed one, but, the rest? Well, gotta treat them all the same, IMO.

they should charge her for the two false reports she gave, she did NOthing criminal till she called 911 and talked to the cops and reported something false.

as for the other things/suggestions you can't make her do that stuff but if I were her parents I'd sure as heck give her hell for not leaving a note or calling them, and if I were the groom her ass would be kicked to the curb...

imagine what ELSE she'd react this way about!

This wasn't a real crime like the others mentioned. That's why she should be charged. That's the difference.

    Seriously,

You also have to look at the 'damage' done to the community.

How many lunches and dinners, homework assignments, play and family-time hours were wasted looking for a loony toon
    heading west?

What about the panic and fear in every household in the area.

You can't put a price or penalty for pulling a stunt like that.

All of a sudden everyone is looking at each other with suspicion in that town....Scott Pete........Ah, I mean the GROOM are being put under the mircoscope (what the hell was the deal with the polygraph????)

The more I think about that point, the more I think he MAY have had something to do with her getting to the bus stop in the next town.....

THAT would be the first question they would ask.

Do you have anything to do with your GF's disappearance???

I DROVE HER TO THE BUS STOP...

    Something stinks in Duluth, Georgia....

    --------------------------------------

As with every big story that has a strange twist to it....

    I'll wait for the book....

Good old Jenny Wilbanks, member of a prominent family in the community, has not gone into the good night quietly.

    Good point bout that

she should be charged for lack of common sense!

jk kinda, but seriously WHY didn't she let anyone know? "didn't want anyone upset with me".... so now she lied to 911 and police and its all over the news and the whole damned neighborhood is upset with her. way to go, dumbass.

I believe this woman needs help. I can understand her having cold feet alot of people do. What I don't understand is her running away upsetting her family. She did not say a word to anyone as to where she was going.

Yes I do also believe she should be charged with something. As for her finance I think he better move on without her.

Jenny Wilbanks was a sweet enough girl,
She thought she'd give a marriage a whirl.
She hooked up with this local Mason guy...
But, in photos she had these real wild eyes.

Cupid shot a some arrows with his bow.
This love was infectious, it demanded a show.
A giant church to hold a nuptials
Aw sh!t, there may be trouble,
(My problem is I can't rhyme "nuptial" )

The day was set, preparations were set.
    Dresses made, obligations met!
A dream come true for this southern belle-
The idea was heaven, the results were hell!

Six hundred guests for this small marriage stint.
It must've cost the parents quite a mint.
The people flew and drove from near and far.
By airplane and truck and by rental car!

The stress was growing, the tension thick.
The bride was growing mentally sick.
Seconds thoughts were in her brain.
I have to leave town! Maybe by train??

No, she thought! I'll take a bus!
I'll quietly escape all the fuss.
I'll go Greyhound, I bought my fare!
A change of clothes and cut my hair!

I'll trim my 'do and leave the strands.
For searchers to find, on Georgia land.
I'll slip out of town, without a sound.
I'll elude all efforts to be found.

I'll head out west...To the mountains or sea?
I'll go to Vegas, that's the place that I'll be.
What happens there, just stays in Vegas.
While the search for me, in Georgia, still rages.

And then, late on that fateful night,
    she disappeared from everyone's sight!
she disappeared from her evening jog.
And leave them checking under rocks and logs.

Now the family finds that Jenny is lost.
CALL THE COPS!! DAMN THE COST....
Dogs and searchers, copters and trucks.
No sign of Jenny....Are we outta luck?

The police conference, the media storms town!
"We have reason to believe, that Jenny's not around!"
Kidnapped or killed? By who or by what?
Let's blame the husband, case open? case shut!

Six hundred guests, left out in limbo
By the actions of one neurotic bimbo!
While she was out, seeing the world.
Slowly the minds of her family twirled.

If Jenny was taken, how will she be found?
    Geraldo thinks, Greta makes sounds...
This may be like something done by a guy named Scott...
He 'dumped' his wife....Now, there is a thought!

Now Mason denies that detector test.
'I didn't kill Jenny, give it a rest!'
The pastor speaks to the media at large.
The police man now speaks, I think he's a Sarge!

On the eve of the wedding, a service is set
To pray for poor Jenny, who hasn't turned up yet!
And lo and behold, in the middle of the night
Jenny is alive! Her home a happy site!

Mason is beaming, She's alive and called home!
Is she being ransomed or is she alone?
Don't be silly, in danger, she's not!
    She's calling from a 7-11 parking lot!

The emergency dispatcher on a 911 line.
Has determined Ms. Jenny is safe and is fine!
The woman from Georgia was kidnapped from town,
By a van and a woman and some Hispanic clown.

They drove her west, they cut her hair.
The dastardly deeds, done by this pair!!!
The cops take her down, to the local police station.
And the news is welcomed by the awakening nation!

Jenny is alive, and none the worse for wear.
Just some scary days and the loss of her hair.
But with some expert police grilling.
    Jenny's guts a start to a spilling.

Well, maybe the story isn't THAT real.
It all started when I started to feel-
pressured by marriage, and all the arrangements.
Led to my nerves and to my derangement.

I disappeared into that thin air-
This marriage thing, it gave me a scare!
I lost my spine,I did get cold feet!
With that, I just had to hit the street.

The problems I caused all seem so small-
I just had to leave, get away from y'all!
Don't hate me for leaving you all in a lurch.
I was afraid of what would happen inside that church.

Let me go home, Just not by bus!
First class airfare and some airport fuss!
A blanky on my head, my face I'll a-hide-a
The way the women are treated by Al-Queda!

Clutching a stuffed bear, reserved for lost kiddies
The nation begins by granting her pity,
Poor woman got nerves and then had to run.
Leaving a city in Georgia, not having fun.

Poor people that were searching for a local town daughter,
she was in a place where the weather was hotter!
Some people were mad, some people had pity...
Were charges to be filed, by a lawyer, for the city?

The boyfriend and pastor have spoken and said.
It's not over, they soon will be wed!
The first thing that happens is to find out the fines
she'll have to pay for her stupid, little crime.

She's safe back at home, this georgia peach.
Safe from reporters and the camera's reach.
But there are still many questions about this sick stunt.
and the answers are held by this stupid little 'girl'.
