Thread: My handsome Dylan

    My handsome Dylan

Took a few pictures of my sweetheart a few minutes ago...
First - he was standing on the dresser next to me...

Then he decided to settle into his bed which is right next to my desk...we finally bought him a bed that would hold him...a DOG bed.....this shows part of his plume-like tail...

and a little zoom-in of my sweet boy...

what is it about this boy?? I just LOVE him He really does not like to have his picture taken but I could not resist. He always looks away or runs from the room when he sees me with my camera!!

What is it about him you ask? Well I think it's thats sweet soulful look in his eyes. If you just stare at his eyes you can tell there is a deep kitty in there. He looks very sensitive, sincere, tender and loving, but just a tad leary to completely trust. That makes you want to reach way down in there and comfort him and let him know that it is okay. He will never be betrayed again.

I love his new bed and he has plenty of room to stretch out and get comfy! He looks good on blue too!

That is exactly what it is!! YES!!!!
He has been with us over a year now, and yet there IS that bit of leariness to him!! I sometimes look at him and wonder WHY anyone would take a cat - over a year old - and return him to the shelter! How I wish I knew his history....Poor thing was there for six months and they said he was hard to adopt out because he was "fat" Somebody gave up a prize!!! Oh well, my gain right??

I think Lisa said it perfectly.
After being in a home for over a year and then dumped in a cage for 6 months, has definitely had to have an effect on him. Only God knows what these kitties must be going through when things like this happen to them.

You're gain is right Debbie. Dylan is absolutely gorgeous and i'm sure there will be a day, when he will put his complete trust in you.

Give that sweet boy a big hug and kiss for me please.

I am completely and totally in love with Dylan...he's my favorite PT kitty. There is just something about him..it is his eyes. He is simply gorgeous.

Dylan IS a beautiful cat. Gee whiz - someone abandoned him because he was fat?????? Obviously, he has a much better home environment with you, Dennis and the other furbies. Someone who would get rid of a cat like that could never be capable of truly loving him like he should be loved. I really liked seeing him in his bed with the panda. Is that one of "his" toys or did it just happen to be in the bed when he retired?

Thank you for the nice replies!! There is more that I meant to write. There are a couple reasons that I love orangies.
The biggest one is that my companion kitty, RB Bert was an orangie and he is the only kitty who ever *chose* me as his person and preferred me! Then, I got to know CCL's Peanut Butter and fell in LOVE!! I was always looking for PB pictures. There was one that Lisa posted where PB was *hugging* her Well, after mentioning I wanted an orangies, PT folks drove me nuts until I went looking.
When I went to visit Dylan at the shelter, I picked him up...and he hugged me!!! A *hugging* kitty!!
Well, Dylan does not hug me anymore - he really hates to be held in fact, but he is still my heart kitty

One of these days - I hope he will come to lose that leariness and trust me like I wish for him to. He *always* stays near me though - so I know he loves me. But, he is always giving way to any of the other cats, so polite..that he does not even get to stay on the bed very long My real *quality* time with Dylan is ...in the bathroom He is my "potty-kitty" and always comes in there with me. Then, he gets his dose of loving for the day with no interruption.

Aw, Dylan! You are so adorable! You wouldn't have been in that shelter a second if I had seen you!
Who wouldn't love you? I can't help but wonder if the ones who didn't want you because you were "fat" would boot their skin kids out if they got that way?????

I love your bed. I may have to get Leonardo one. He is a big boy too. I love big kitties and small kitties and fat kitties and skinny kitties and orange kitties and black kitties and white kitties and multi color kitties and ..........
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

    Potty- kitty!LOL!
What is it with cats and bathrooms? My cats are all lovey-dovey in the bathroom as well.
Dylan is gorgeous! He is big but not fat.
I always had a weakness for the big, fluffy ones. Sadly most people want to adopt kittens and never bother looking at the adults.

Thanks to BCBlondie for this great signature!
