Thread: Camera

    Camera

I was thinking of saving up for a small, cheap digi cam. I want something I can just carry around with me and take pics if I want (I don't like carrying my rebel around everywhere cause it was expensive)

Any suggestions? I'd prefer atleast 3 MP, be small, take pretty good pics, not expensive and wouldn't mind having one of those little monitor thingies that you can move around...if that makes sense? (I think Kay's cam has that???)

I was looking at Canon Powershots or whatever, but not sure..

Great camera but I just found out that they've discontinued them.

I think the a80's and a95's have the swivel lcd. The only reason I want the a95 over a cheaper model is because of the screen.

Thanks I don't need one for close up though. My current one is pretty good for that ^__^

I looked at the A85. I'll have to look at the others. How is the screen diff in the A95?

My Kodak Easyshare 7500 (I think those are the numbers) was $120.00 and its 3.2 mp. It takes really nice pictures, and is pretty small. I carry it in my coat pocket everywhere I go.

The A95 is a GREAT camera! That's what I have now. I also have the A70, which was my first Canon and it also takes very good quality pictures.

Hehe, Ash, the screen IS pretty cool.

Audrey, here's the review for the A95..

    And the A70..

We payed around $400.00 for each camera when we purchased them, but I'm sure they've come down in price.

I have the Canon PowerShot A85 and it's awesome! It's just like the A75 and A95 and the only difference is the megapixels(plus the A95 has that hott swivel screen).

    Best cameras:

So if you're looking for a cheap digital camera, I recommend the Canon PowerShot A75, it cost $199, but you can find it cheaper if you look around. I think Ritz Camera has it for around $150.

    Good luck!

I have a Samsung Digimax 401 and it takes ok photos, also i can carry it around in normal jeans pockets. 4.0 MP, Black and white, sepia, Macro, Video/ Audio mode. I paid (Well Ma did) about $300 Australian for it about 6 months ago.

Mine's a Kodak Easyshare and I LOVE it. Nick got it and the printerdock for me last Christmas. I am so happy! I had wanted it forever and I cried when I opened the present!! But I am very pleased with it and they're fairly inexpensive. I think the camera and the printer together was around 400.00, but that was when they were fairly new!

Thanks for all the info ^__^

I won't be getting one till I save some money, but do the canons have sepia and/or black and white?? I can't seem to find that on the info page..I guess I need to look harder.

I was thinking a 3-4 mp is all I need. I would like something in the range of 200-300 (canadian) with that swivel LCD thingie...-sigh- why can I never find EXACTLY what I'm looking for??

(edit) nm, I see the black and white/sepia thingie now

My A80 has sepia and b/w. It has a lot of options but i haven't tried a lot of them ;x

It's 4mp with the swivel thingy.
