Lessons on the Lunge line.

I own a Quarter horse named Missy, and I can't lunge her! she is 14 and no one taught her how to be lunged!
It is very hard to teach an older animal new things, she gets going nice then I give her a little tap with the lunge whip and she panicks and bolts- pulling the line out of my hands. Lunging a horse is great because they teach a horse balance and help develop muscles, they also teach rider balance, on the lunge line you can take away reins and stirrups, and teach the rider balance. Can anyone help me?

Truthfully, I wish I could help you but I don't know what lunged means! I don't own any horses but my grandparents do. Could you explain to me what "lunged" is? Let me know by e-mailing me.
