    Lovebird missing feathers?

I just posted some pictures of my Lovebirds on the Pet General, then realized you guys might be able to help me.

Kiwi, my male is missing alot of feathers on his back, right between his wings towards the back of his neck. I'm not sure if he is plucking them himself, or if his girlfriend Mango is.... But does anyone know what I can do to help him? He is acting normal, just looks weird.

    Thanks!

He might be plucking them himnself. Try watching him for a while and see if he does pull some out. You might want to call an avian vet just to be on the safe side.

I have looked for those kind of vets before, we have nothing in this area, the closest one is maybe 1.5 hours.... I will keep an eye on him, he doesn't seem any different.

    Thanks!

    What diet is he on?
It could be a shortage of Vit. A. But if it's only the back area, I have a suspicion that his girlfriend is plucking him. Birds usually cannot reach their back to pluck. Usually the chest goes first. I'd watch them closely and see if you can catch Mango or Kiwi plucking.
