Pet-Nappers Posing as Humane Society Workers

If you live in Crawford County, Illinois it`s a good idea to keep a close
watch on your family pets.
There have been two confirmed cases of attempted animal theft there.
Each attempt included a man and woman pretending to be Humane Society
employees.
They`re also driving a white pickup truck with a topper that resembles the
truck which is actually used by the Crawford County Humane Society.
The would-be thieves explained to the pet owners that they were picking up the
animals because they had received complaints of abuse.
Both attempts were unsuccessful, but the Sheriff`s Department says there is
motive to steal certain pets and this case will be investigated.
The real Humane Society says its employees will be carrying identification
with them and their truck now has a logo painted on the side.
