I'm not real big on "celebrating" the birthdays of my pets, but do like to recognize them, at least! Mimi turned 12 today, and I think that is a pretty big milestone for her, and for me.
Mimi has stuck with me, through thick and thin, and has been around longer than my Helen has. She has moved five times in the last eight years, has adjusted beautifully to each new home, has accepted at least three dogs as permanent residents (not counting the strays and "relatives" who have stayed with us), has tolerated Butter beautifully, and has given Helen and me more love than any human deserves. And she just keeps on giving. The greatest tribute to Mimi was something Helen said just last week. She asked me who I loved more, the dogs or the cats. I explained that I love them equally, just differently. And her response was that she loved the dogs, but nothing was more special to her than the greeting she gets from Mimi when she returns home after being away.It is a special bond that the three of us have with each other, and I just felt the need to tell you all that this is Mimi's special day. She is my Cat of the Day, every single day.

What memories you all share! I have been fortunate that 3 out of 4 of my past dogs lived well into their teens and hopefully Mimi will too. Give your furry girl a big birthday hug and give one to Helen too (your unfurry girl!) 
Happy birthday Mimi! I know you can't have cake but maybe you can ask your mom for something good like tuna! Hope you had a great birthday. You're a saint for putting up with all your furry siblings and showing your humans so much love
