Gift Swap: read if you are sending to Captain or Miss Meow

I received a parcel today from PJ's Mom and the tins of cat and dog food were removed by customs.

The guidelines for sending parcels to Australia are:

    NO:
    - uncanned or packaged products containing any meat (that includes cat and dog treats, and dry or wet food)
    - real feathers
    - catnip
    - dried flowers
    - rawhide
    - bark, straw, plants
    - tea containing fruit extracts
    - dairy products or anything with more than 10% dairy content

That pretty much excludes any pet food treats

Just wanted to let you know so your parcels aren't ripped open and messed with

I'm sure we can stock up with treats from here, so when we get our boxes, we can sneak some treaties in so the furries won't notice ...

You could have sent this to me in a PM, but thank you for letting people know.

    And...
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE IF YOU ARE SENDING TO ONE OF THEM... REMEMBER, WE WANT THIS TO BE A SURPRISE... SO NO GIVING IT AWAY HERE.

It's not just Australia that Gift Swappers need to worry about ~

    MOST Countries have *restrictions*
about just *what* can be shipped into their country!

If you're planning to ship a backage out of your Home Country -
    ASK before you ship!

I was going to send some K-Nipp SEEDS to someone overseas a couple
years ago... I "asked" the US POST Office about it...

They had NO CLUE (and little interest in researching the question)...
I finaly e-mailed the Country's Embassy in Washington, DC -
and THEY responded quickly with the advisory of --
    DON'T send the seeds - it's ILLEGAL!

Restrictions vary - best to ASK first, then ship!

Hopefully, no one will "let any Kats outta da bag" here -

But ALL who are shipping from their Home Country to a Foriegn Land -
need to consider what Miz Meow and I have suggested...
the "rules" about WHAT you can ship out,
and what you can ship IN to different countries
    vary -

If YOU are effected by this - you might try a PM
to a DIFFERENT Pet Talker (one you're NOT Gift Exchanging with) -
but who lives in the Same Country as your Gift Exchange person does -
and ask them to "check" on an item you'd like to send.

    Just another *thought*.
