Thread: When's our NEXT "Ohio" Gathurin? . June/July?? . Ohio or Michigan??

  1. #16
We need to HEAR from summore Folks!!

Sounds like July 5th isn't so swift a day...
Do you want me to cancel/release #7 on the 5th??
I could switch our "hold" on #7 to the 3rd of July (Saturday)...
but if the whole 4th of July weekend is bad for most folks...
Sould we plan on doing FINDLAY on July 11 or 18 ??

That might open up some "space" between Kia's D-Day Party in Michigan
(in late June) and a mid-JULY Findlay Gathurin.

    Let's try this ~
I'll send Parks a check for $90 today - doing THAT will set us
up for *locking a day* with just a phone call.

We'll *lock up* Labor Day Sunday (Sept 5th).

Then, whatever we pick for July and August dates,
we can do with a phone call.

BUT - in fairness to Others who may want #7 over the 4th of July
Holiday weekend - we SHOULD decide purty Quick-Like -
*IF* we want either July 3 or 5 at Findlay!

    Kimmy! ...
Consider that June 20 is DAD's DAY!
Makes no never-mind to ME (I'll have my Kids WITH me)...
But can everyone else "skip" being Home wiff Dad?
'Course SATURDAYs in Michigan is still a possibility, too.

C'mone Folks - let's HEAR some more voices here!

Well scratch the weekend of June 20th. Not only is it Father's Day but also NASCAR at Michigan International Speedway. Can't miss that!

Looks like we're leaning more towards June 26th or 27th. Need to check with Andy and see what works best for him and our families. I'd like my parents to be able to come out and check out the Bark Park.

    IMHO
I think we should do it the next weekend, Phred. I just don't think that weekend would be good for a lot of people. There are more 'probably not's' then Probably's.
But then we will miss Carl coming home from FL But Maybe Diana and I can have a mini PT meeting and Amy's crew.
Keegan really likes Carl! Must be in the name - that is her Grandpa and Great Grandpa's name.

    Ooooo-Kayyy...

    Kia's watchin da NASCAR Race on Dad's Day;
an it looks like there's not much *interest* in
    a 4th of July Gathurin...

    Let's *PLAN* Kia's Birfday Blast first;
then skip a couple weeks and plan a Findlay Gathurin in July.

    On Friday I sent a $90 Deposit/Reservation check off to Parks -
    that's good for 3 x $30 Reservations/Rentals of Pavilion #7.

We HAVE RESERVED #7 on Labor Day SUNDAY - September 5th -
So mark your calendars, ask for that day *off* -
    and PLAN to BE THERE!

    NEXT...
    KIA ~
    PLAN your B-Day Partee!

I have not posted because living here in Findlay I can pretty well make it any time. Carl will be home the 4th but that isn't a good enough reason to have a meeting. Any weekend will be good for me and my crew.

    And the *Plan* is .... ? ? ?

OK, let's Try this - again...

Since the 4th of July Weekend didn't seem too *hot* -
I called Parks and told them we didn't want #7 on
either July 3rd or 5th (4th was already gone).

    Hey Kia ~~
Any word on WHEN your B-Day Partee is gonna be????

As for a July Gathurin at FINDLAY -
only a couple days are available for Pavilion #7 -

As of this afternoon (2 PM) - #7 is Available on
two Sundays - July 11 and July 18...
July 25 is NOT available - Parks is holding a Big
"2nd Annual Hancock Heritage Days Festival"
on July 24 & 25 - BIG Crowd in the Park and
Parking can't be guaranteed so they just won't allow reservations.

If we want #7 on either July 11 or 18 -
we need to "Reserve" it pretty Quick-Like!

*INVITE** to Kia's Birthday PARTY on SATURDAY, June 26 in MICHIGAN

On SATURDAY, June 26th, I will be hosting Kia's birthday party at Orion Oaks Bark Park in Lake Orion, MI.

Anyone and everyone is invited, even if you don't have a dog.

    The Mundane Info:

    Where: Orion Oaks Bark Park
    When: SATURDAY, June 26th
    Time: Roughly 1:00 p.m.

The Bark Park entrance is located on Joslyn Rd. (exit 83 off of I-75) between Waldon Rd. and Clarkston Rd.

A day or annual permit is needed to PARK in the Bark Park lot, but no permit is needed for the dogs. Day permits are sold at the Main Entrance to Orion Oaks Park on Clarkston Rd., between Baldwin and Joyslyn Rd.

I'm not sure if the 'guard' to the Bark Park lot sells day passes or not. I'll ask him next time we go.

Having a permit will not guarentee a spot in the lot. It is small and can fill up quickly, especially on nice days.

Canterbury Village is less than a mile south of the Bark Park. Andy and I have parked there and walked to the Bark Park. It's a nice walk. There is also a school parking lot just Northeast of the Bark Park entrance. I've parked there before too. We've recently been told that anyone parking in the school lot will be ticketed, but we've had no problems.

So, for those that don't want to risk that, I have no problems shuttling those that want to park at Canterbury to the Bark Park and back, if you don't want to walk.

    Mapquest Map of Area

    Now to the Fun Stuff:
Orion Oaks' Bark Park offers seven fenced acres with lake access for dogs to swim, wide-open spaces, woods and fields; drinking water is available on site.

I will be providing refreshments again. If I can get a decent headcount, I'll have Frosty Paws for the pups.

All in all, just come on out and have a good time.

Whenever we all decide on a date, I need to know some stuff.

If it's a day my mom is off work we can come down. (she promised me last time but she worked)

Okay. Elvis is 4 months old. How old does a puppy need to be to get in the park? What do we bring? if I came it would just be Elvis. Katie isn't too great with tons of dogs.

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure July 18th would work for me. As of right now it looks like both me and Alden would be able to come that day. That is not a 100% guarantee though.

If that is not what the majority is though, don't worry about us we will be able to make it to another one.

    Hope this helps, Phred.

We may not be able to attend either meetings, since June 26th may be too early for us, and the 18th too late. Besides, that's my mom's birthday. I'm not sure though, because I don't even know what dates we're going to MI this year.

Amber -- Puppies have to be atleast 16 weeks of age, so yes he's old enough. You'll have to register and get a permit for the Findlay dog park to be able to go.

It's not. All you have to do is fill out the forms properly, send in the 10 dollars along with the form, and you're set. They'll send your permit in the mail or have you pick it up at the park office.

You of course, have to have proof of vaccinations/shots, as well as tags. That's not complicated either.

All we did was take a picture of the reciepts we recieve each vet visit, which lists the shots they recieved, and printed it out.

Yes, Amber if it too complicated for you have one of your parents read it. It is NOT hard. You just have to do it!

I am pretty sure have to work the weekend of the 17th and 18th. So I won't be able to make it that weekend. But I will double check tomorrow.
