    Mice and Rats

    Hi Everyone.

The last while I've become very interested in pet mice and pet rats. I know there are quite a few people here who have them. Do they make good pets, if so why do you like them for those of you who have them or have had them in the past. Thanks for your help!

Rats!! I've had both, and while mice are fun nothing beats the ratty love!! They have the personality of a greagrious puppy.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

I recently got a rat and I LOVE her. She's very sweet and loves being around me. It's amazing how much love you can get from something so small. She loves to snuggle with me

Thanks for the info. I've often thought about getting a rat, I've heard they make great pets.

Uabassoon, your little rat is so cute!

I have owned rats since 2001, I currently have 5 right now. No small pet beats a rat. They are beyond awesome.

I love my rat! They make really swell pets. They're smart, sweet, and, clean. Mice are really cute, too, but, they're not as fun to handle, in my opinion. Just too small to really cuddle.

    Thanks, Dogz!

Rats by far, though I do love my little mouse Fred and to me his personality is better than my rats, but it's rare to find a mouse like that. I just had a litter of pups born yesterday.

I have to agree with the others, rats for sure! Currently I have 6, have had them for 17+ years.
They are generally nicer, cleaner, smarter than other rodents (gerbils, hamsters, mice) & easier to cuddle with!

My mice are fun, and I like to handle them, but they poo on you a lot It sometimes grosses me out

But they are very sweet, never EVER bite, and are very soft. It's nice when they burrow in my hair around my neck.
