    Flyball?

I was wondering about flyball..anyone here have their dogs in it?
I was thinking I need to get into something and my dad said I should try flyball. I thought about it and I think Zeke would like it. I was curious how you train them into it? I think Zeke would be more interested in playing without dogs then doing the whole ball thing..Was anyones dog like that at first? Also, I've seen shows on it and it looks like any dogs can do it, right?

I don't do flyball myself, but I think it looks pretty fun. ^_^

I know where I live there are places that have courses on flyball. I personally haven't ever participated, but, I'm going to check out the classes available. My puppy is too young, now, but, when he's old enough, I think it would be fun to get him into that. You can search online for training tips and courses close to you. Good luck!

    Thanks, Dogz!

You could PM cali or cloverfdx. They both are very involved in flyball and answered a lot of questions that I had about it.

    We still haven't started.

We tried it out with a local club. It was FUN! Both dogs really enjoyed running and jumping over the hurdles more than the actual ball. Kai's not too crazy about tennis balls and Kaedyn doesn't seem to know what a tennis ball is but..they both loved jumping and running. We'd still be doing it now but my mom and I didn't really like the team so we're still searching for another one.

*Raises hand* Self confessed Flyball addict here

I am currently competing with one dog and have another in training. Clover was quite a pain in the rear when we first started and just got too excited and ran off, but after 2 years of training and competing she is one of the most reliable dogs in our club.

It is true all breeds can do Flyball and if you get involved in a team that is willing to help out new members and train you and your dog properly it is a realy enjoyable/ awesome sport.

Here are some links for you to check out and there is a club finder to find a club in your area/ region.

    NAFA north american flyball association

    AFA australian flyball association

    Flyball.com

That should be enough to get you started and if you have any more questions about the sport feel free to ask.
