    ARRRGGGG Heartless people.

I posted this in Dog General, but thought I would post it here also.
Read this in the Montreal Gazette.
Some stupid, idiotic person, left NINE - 6 week old black Labrador
puppies, in a cardboard box, by the side of the road. A man, who was going to a store, saw the cardboard box along side of the road and when he looked inside, he saw all these puppies.
Thank God this man came along when he did, cause I don't even want to think what could have happened to these precious pups.
They were found Monday, Feb., 2nd and it was posted in the Gazette on thursday. It made the front page. It showed the box full of puppies and of course they are all adorable. In yesterday's paper, they were saying that they had a lot of calls in regards to the pups and some have even been adopted already.
It still boggles my mind how people could be so heartless.
This is a sad story, but thankfully with a happy ending.

That happens SO much more than you'd like to think.

I always stop for every cardboard box I see along side the road. I hate to, I'm just sick walking up to it, wondering what I'll find. But I do it anyway.

I've found several litters of puppies this way, most alive, but a couple frozen.

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien

Oh I know this happens more than I care to think about, but to me, I don't see any reason whatsoever to do something so cruel as this. There are plenty of shelters, S.P.C.A.'s, we even have an organization that will come and pick up if you don't have a car. It only cost $20.00. There is just no need for this to happen.
Hats off to you Twisterdog for stopping and checking out any boxes. It must have been so hard on you when you found any that were dead. I would have been a basket case.

Unfortunatly -- Saving $20 is alot more important to some than saving 9 lives.

OMG! That's horrible! What do people do such things??

I'v heard that this happens a lot in the country, that people just drive by, and just dump their dog(s). That is so cruel. They shouldn't even have the right to own an animal.

I'm so happy such a caring person found the pups!
Hopefully they will all go to good homes!!

As for the person who left them there--they'll get theirs.
