May God Bless You and bring peace to your heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. I too lost my step-mom (hate that word because she was so much more) around Thanksgiving 5 years ago. She truly lives on in my heart and I think about her everyday. The thoughts of her now don't bring pain but make me smile with wonderful memories. The pain will ease and you will be thankful to have been blessed to have had her in your life. God Bless.

Dear Tod I'm so sorry your Mum has passed away. How very sad for you - such a sense of desolation isn't it?
You just have to take one day at a time - it's an awful struggle I know.
Mum's are so special and I still feel a sense of 'guilt' for not having done more for my dear Mum before she passed 2 years ago.
Hold tight to the good memories and weep as much as you want to - sometimes it helps. You'll find that a little thing will trigger memories eg: a piece of music - and you'll be in floods of tears. This is normal.

Todd, Lynne has written some very wise thoughts for you. When I lost my father years ago on Thanksgiving Day, it made the holidays so difficult. I could burst into tears over a song, a sound or even a smell.

Go ahead and "feel" all you can feel right now - don't hold back your tears. All of this is part of the necessary grief process because your loss is huge.

But just like your Mom wanted to see you happy while she was here, she will also want to see you happy now. It is so hard to understand, but she will always be with you and is with you now.
