    Angels3...
Thank You for posting this link to EARS,
    (Emergency Animal Rescue Service)..I had
UAN bookmarked but didn't think to look there
for the lastest disaster response in the wake
of the terrorist attack on our country..
If anyone has ever wondered what happens to
the animal companions of those people who had
to flee their homes/apts. because of the vast
destruction, this latest report brings some
    encouraging news..
    Thanks Again Angels3 !!!

lizbud, this news is great, too, that the AKC has set up a fund to raise funds to support the search & rescue dogs as well as to provide for the pets who've lost their owners in the disaster.
Information about the fund should be on the American Kennel Club website.

The American Kennel Club Creates Disaster Relief Fund

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The American Kennel Club and The AKC Companion Animal Recovery, CAR, responded to this week's devastating terrorist attacks with financial support on behalf of our
organization and the sport of purebred dogs.

The "AKC/AKC CAR Disaster Relief Fund" has been established to provide support for search and rescue dogs and relief for pets of disaster victims. AKC and AKC CAR have each contributed $25,000 to establishthe Fund.

These funds will be directed in a variety of ways for dog related assistance including transportation, care and feeding of
search and rescue dogs as well as help for their handlers. In addition, these funds will be used to aid animals that have lost their
    owners.

Phred, thank you for giving the direct link to the AKC Animal Fund.
You might also like to know that the Australian firefighters' union have set up a fund to send support to the families of their US brothers who lost their lives.
