    Basketball and Breakfast

    TIME: 5:45 A.M.

EMMA: "I am hungry, isn't she awake YET?"

ANNIE: "No, but I know how to wake her up (hee hee)."

RASCAL: "You two settle down, you know she doesn't like to wake up before 6 AM."

EMMA: "Well, if she left enough crunchies for the night, this wouldn't happen."

ANNIE: "She did leave enough and you ate your share and mine too."

EMMA: "And I am thirsty too."

ANNIE: "There is water in the bowl."

    EMMA: "I want FRESH water."

ANNIE: "O.K. I'll go get the basketball."

Dribble, dribble, SHE SHOOTS! SHE SCORES. YAY!

EMMA: "Look at her, it's disgusting, she didn't even open an
    eye."

ANNIE: "Go scratch the carpeting, that usually makes
    her mad."

RASCAL: "You two, cut it out, I want to sleep in too."

ANNIE: "This calls for drastic measures. I am going to give
    her the tummy jump."

EMMA: "Hey, thanks, Annie, it worked - her eyes opened
real fast with that one. HA HA HA HA HA!"

ANNIE: "Look how funny she looks, her hair is a mess."

    (12 paws pound into kitchen)

ANNIE & "Now that was a good breakfast with some fresh
    EMMA: water too.

    YAWN, STREEETTCH, YAWN.

I think it is time for a nap, yeah, me too, me too"

RASCAL: "Sorry, Mom, I tried to tell them, but they won't
    listen."

What is most amazing....no matter what time zone....a cat MUST rise before 6:00 am and retire 1/2 hour later.

I do believe it is a CAT LAW!

LOLOLOL! Oh Gini, you have my full sympathy - being waked up 15 min. before you HAVE to is absolutely horrendous!! BUT .... in this case, I know there's no way to avoid a trip to the kitchen.

Rascal, you better start teaching your two little sisters the rules of the house - and soon!

Gini, I hope you're not too sleepy - it does take some time to train newcomers! DO IT BEFORE THEY TRAIN YOU!!

Hugs - and sleep well tonight!!

I love how Rascal ate most of the food, but pretended to not want to wake you up early for more!!!

My "electronic" alarm goes off at 5 a.m. But my DOGS go off at 4:45 with clickity clickity claws on the floor! I have to get up and out of my bed, open the back door and let them out and wonder if I can dare fall back to sleep for even a few minutes. HAH! Oh well, at least I get get to work early every day. Except when Emmitt [one of my cats] sprawls across my lap while I'm watching news or trying to "get ready" to go to the bus. Bummer when it happens on a weekend

drives me mad, but they are soooo comfy against my side and legs on the bed when they are sleepy Jen. , and Badger and Thunder are on the "OTHER SIDE" "to sleep perchance to dream".

LOL Great story Gini. Sunny's the one that has been waking me up before my alarm goes off. He'll rub his cold little nose against my cheek or start walking back and forth across my head and neck. He'll keep moving around my bed for about 20 minutes or so and then he'll finally lie down and relax. A few minutes later my alarm clock will go off.

Great story Gini and I could picture the whole thing in my mind! Around here Trevor is the alarm clock. He walks all over me, and even the dogs meowing the whole time. The dogs are like me and enjoy sleeping in when they can, but sometimes it's very hard with a 16 lb. orange kitty walking all over you meowing. If that doesn't work he then starts knocking things off the desk or pawing at the window shade. Of course as soon as he finishes his breakfast he goes right back to sleep.

Great story, Gini. Don't they all have their own proclivities when it comes to morning routine? (redundant question of course)

Around here the Tucker boy is the own who has to get me up early, although the old head shaking collar jangle is all he employs. Hannah on the other hand has to be literally dragged out of bed. Not a problem except Tucker wants Hannah to go outside with him, (it's still dark afterall). And I am expected to keep all the goings on under control so hubby doesn't get awakened. After outies it is *feed me, feed me, feed me*, and then comes bark patrol for the front sidewalk (remember hubby is still sleeping). So give them cats some credit for going back to sleep after breakfast.
