dog play groups

Hi folks,

I know we talked about websites for finding dog parks recently; I wondered if any of you knew of any sites where you could search for play groups by city or region. I figure these things are rather ephemeral in nature so a website would be unlikely, but I thought I'd ask.

There are no dog parks very close to me and I'd like to find Lefty some friends. I had high hopes for the big dog across the street from us, but he doesn't seem to like my Lefty.

Thanks so much but I'm really looking for play groups--folks getting together and letting their dogs get to know one another. Like I said, I could see these things coming and going so there might not be a website devoted to them. I just thought I'd see if perhaps there was. Unfortunately there's not a dog park very close to me.

I've posted my query to a couple of community mailing lists; maybe something will come of that.

That's why you go to the dog park. It's a great place for them to socialise. I've never heard of play groups for dogs. You also might be interested in doggy day care.
