Music groups you grew up with

I know a lot of us are going to be showing our ages on this I got to thinking how much fun I had talking about the old board games we all played. So, I thought I'd tell you some of my favorite bands/people I listened to going through school. I can't remember them all of course but some are still around! Here goes: Just copy and paste this list then add on to it.
    1. Supertramp
    2. Journey
    3. Rick Springfield
    4. ELO(Electric Light Orchestra)
    5. Queen
    6. Information Society(I think they came out the year I graduated)
    7. Fleetwood Mac
    8. Blondie
    9. Seals and Crofts(this was when I was really young and my brothers listened to them)
    10. Bread also
    11. Blood Sweat and Tears
    12. Prince(the great purple one)
    13. Styx
    14. Devo
I know there's more but I've gotten about all I can get. When I'm not listening to 93.3 Flz in Tampa or 106.7 in Orlando, I listen to 101.5 the Point in Tampa. They play a lot of songs from that time in my life.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

In my heart you'll forever be.

    And EW I HATE 93.3flz!!!!

They called people up once saying they had dogs for adoption and if they didn't adopt them that they were going to shoot them. When the people said they couldn't adopt, they would play sounds of like a dog getting hurt with gun shots.

Now that is not cool. Big Mama gets on my nerves sometimes. He talks too much.

    Dolly Parton

    Madonna
    Michael Jackson
    Cyndi Lauper
    Tears for Fears

    That's sick Kay

The songs I grew up with were No Doubt, Backstreet Boys (), Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Our Lady Peace (during the 'Superman's Dead' time), Green Day, and a few more. I hate so many of these artists now, lol.

But nothing beat the "Dirty Dancing" soundtrack!! I still sing along when I hear the songs. Lol.

Oh yeah Michael Jackson too...I loved his cassette....I can't remember the name. The one with "It doesn't matter if your black or White" song on it.

I don't really remember Sonny and Cher on TV...just what I have seen in clips on other shows. Donny and Marie were my favorites though...I even had Barbie-like dolls of them

The first MJ I had was Thriller (on record!)...back when he was black...."Black or White" was a little later, as his skin was fading to white

I think they're all stupid on that station. I prefer 97x and Wild 98.7.

    What about Tony Defranco?

"Heatbeat, it's a love beat..." He was a total Tiger Beat created phenomenon.

I had forgotten about Cindy Lauper!

I was teaching Junior High when No Doubt became popular!

I was doing my student teaching when NKOTB was at their peak. Worse yet I was in Boston and they were a Boston group!

I've been listening to the Beatles before I can remember. We used to play "Magical Mystery Tour" every Thanksgiving.

Hmm...Phish was a big favorite in my house. They Might be Giants, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Dylan.

There's more I'm just to lazy to write them down

    ~Rachel
If you're listening to this song
You may think the chords are going wrong
    But they're not
We just wrote it like that

When you're listening late at night
You may think the band are not quite right
But they are, they just play it like that

It doesn't really matter what chords I play
What words I say or time of day it is
As it's only a Northern song

It doesn't really matter what clothes I wear
Or how I fare or if my hair is brown
When it's only a Northern song

    If you think the harmony
Is a little dark and out of key
    You're correct, there's nobody there

And I told you there's no one there

    ~The Beatles

Prince, The Artist Formally Known As..... whatever
    Rick Springfield
    Bruce Springstein
    Cindy Lauper (sp?)
    Aerosmith

I know there's more, I just can't think of them at the moment.
