    Diagnosis is Cholangiohepatitus

I've just been visiting my wee boy, Jock at the vet. He's been diagnosed with cholangiohepatitus of the liver. The vets been giving him ant-inflamitories (as his liver is swollen) antibiotics and tabs for fluid build up. Its just a case of waiting to see if the medicine works now !!

I managed to get him to eat 1/2 slice of cooked chicken and he seems to have perked up slightly with my visit. (The vet said he wished everyone visited their pets as 99% just leave them and don't visit, don't know how they could do that !!)

So fingers and paws crossed he gets better soon but even if the medicine works I think its going to be a long haul as according to the vets book (most of the info was double dutch!) it could take anywhere from 1 - 2 months for him to get better !! But as I say if he starts eating regular again he can come home for the weekend

Jock will need visits as he must know for what he is fighting!

He's such a handsome boy but he looks sad which is very understandable. We send our best positive thoughts to him and keep paws and fingers crossed that the meds will work!

Good to hear he's eating a little

Oh he is such a beautiful cat.

I hope he is on the road to recovery and can soon be home with you. I agree that visiting is very important. I went twice a day when Riplely was at the vet last Oct. It was hard to arrange it for 8 days but it was very important and well worth it.

Please keep us updated. I'm sending well wishes your way!

Oh, I am praying for a full recovery for your sweet Jock. He is a handsome boy, but does look so pitiful. I hope to see him feeling well again real soon! Be strong for him, and give him lots of rubs and kissies from all of us here at PT!

Visited Jock again today and it looks like his appetite is coming back, I took up some cooked haddock for him today and he munched right into it. I think he's looking loads better but the vet says he sees a slight improvement (probably his job to be cautious!) He's been demanding cuddles and brushes from the vet staff so he sounds better also !!

Fingers crossed he gets his weekend pass home, I'll find out tomorrow !!

Not the news I was hoping for !!!!!!!!!!

The vet did another blood test on Jock this morning and unfortunately a couple of the results have got SLIGHTLY worse! He's to come home for the weekend but my vet is referring him to the vet school for the specialists to take over (I've to take him up there on Monday pm)

Will keep you posted (my poor baby !!!)

All fingers and paws crossed here. Please give Jock some extra scrunchies from me too.
