Hello all, Just wanted to send in some more pics of Katie. Katie has been a true blessing to us. I have been dealing with a bout of cancer and am getting ready to have my 2nd operation in a couple of weeks. If all goes well and things haven't spread I will be all done with treatment. If things appear to have spread a bit to the lymph nodes then I will have to have chemo and radiation. I have been assured that even after that I will be ok. It is just a bump in the road while I finish up my treatment. Anyway, my point is that it has been a very scary and stressful time in our house and Katie has been right there to help ease the stress and give us some comfort and lots of laughs. She has been a true joy to have around. When we first got her she was sick for a little while and would not eat and lost quite a bit of weight. She is doing fine now. Eating like crazy and finally putting on some weight. She is a scrawny little thing for an Akita, but we think she is absolutely beautiful! She seems to be getting into more mischief as time goes by. The other day she tore up my husband's work hat (his favorite) and I thought for sure he would be furious but no, he just said that it was his fault he should have put it away. Her most recent trouble making is when my husband mowed the yard and bagged the grass. I put Katie out to potty and when I went to get her I discovered the bags all strewn across the yard and piles of grass clippings everywhere and she was rolling around in it having a blast. Hubby went out and raked it up and bagged it again and put it on the patio and yep you got it. She managed to get that bag and throw it all over the patio...lol...what a little mischief maker she is. My favorite thing to watch is my husband and Kate playing catch me if you can. They run around the house like crazy and of course my husband always loses. Kate is just too fast and quick for him. It is so funny to watch. They usually collapse on the living room floor exhausted. My favorite part is taking her for her walks. We usually get one or two comments about what a beautiful dog she is and I must admit I love that part...lol. Katie seems to love everyone and wiggles and wags when she meets new people and she seems to adore childern the most. Sorry to go on and on but I just thought I would share a few stories about my pup. Now for some pics. I have a hard time doing the pics so bear with me. Oh, by the way, Katie is now 4 months old.
