    Kamco is in hospital

It seems Kamco (COTD June 15, 2003) picked up a fight with another cat or dog (the vet thinks it's a dog, inferring from the wounds). He got severely bitten in the tummy, and it seems he developed an infection inside. He had to have surgery to remove some tissues and damaged muscle yesterday. The vet says he should be in there for about a week... He should be fine, but I feel terrible having to leave him there for so long. Please say a prayer for him.

Oh, poor Kamco! I'm sure the vet wants to keep an eye on him after the surgery and make sure the infection goes away. I hope that handsome Meezer boy gets well soon!

We will keep him in our prayers, poor kitty! And you, too, this will not be an easy week. Perhaps it's time for him to be indoor only for a while!

I visited Kamco in hospital today and he seems to be doing okay. He woke up when I entered the room, and tried to rub his face against my hand. He has on a collar to keep him from licking his tummy, and a needle and bandage on his front paw for receiving injections. I can see his tummy is now completely bare, fur-less. I'm worried about him because he seems so frightened of dogs in other kennels. When I tried to leave, he meowed for me to stay. I hope he is not in pain. Thank you so much for your prayers.

I'm glad he is improving. I know you must be frantic with worry! Hopefully, Kamco will be able to come home soon so you can be with him every minute. I will certainly keep him in my prayers.

From the description of Kamco's injuries, I'd say he got caught by a large dog. I have lost several furkids, in my old home area, due to them jumping into a fenced area with large dogs. You are definitely fortunate that Kamco is still alive after such an enounter. Please keep us posted on his recovery.

OMG that's horrible. I pray for a speeding recovery!
