    New Rat!!! PICTURES + Help me pick a name!

    I got a new rat boy today! I think he's a black berkshire, I'm not totally sure, what do you think? He's got good eyes, nice coat & tail, didn't hear any little whispers to his breath.

    He's been a real sweety, tried to hide in the beginning though, I really can't blame him, I let him chill in his cage and take a nap before I took some pix, I just got him home a little while ago I'm so excited!!



    Please tell me what you think I should name him, the above names I all like! Give me suggestions too.

    I like the names, they are all great Here are some names I found, I always find ones with meanings lol

    COLE m English
    Pronounced: KOL
    From a surname meaning "black" in Old English

    DUBHAN m Irish
    means "little black one"

    SHYAM m Indian
    Derived from Sanskrit syama meaning "dark, black".

    DOUGAL m Scottish, Irish
    Anglicized form of the Gaelic name Dubhghall, which meant "dark stranger" from dubh "dark" and gall "stranger".

    DUFF m Scottish
    Pronounced: DUF
    Derived from Gaelic dubh meaning "dark".

    Adorable rat! I would love to have a black berkshire, I have never seen any around...even in the local rat rescues. Can't wait to see more pictures!

    Hmmm....naming animals for me is hard unless I actually see, touch, and hold the critter. Hmm...some names I, personally, would consider:

    Schwarz-- "black" in German
    Nero- "black" in Italian
    Preto-"black" in Portuguese
    Svart- "black" in Norwegian
    Dougan
    Charlie
    Nile
    LAURA {Human}, FRANNY {Boxer}, PEANUT, BUSTER, & NIBBLES {Rabbits}
