Now its not really [SwingSwing] just, SwingSwing..

I need BASIC ideas..what sort of content..whats the MAIN idea,interactive or personal,premade layouts or not? what things will people like WHAT dont/do you like about websites that make you say ill DEFINITLEY not/will come back to this website??

What makes ppl want to see your website, to start with, is a NICE layout. If they see something they like, it will make them want to look at content. Have something for them to interest them..maybe funny quotes or games or something like that.

I know things that catch my eye on a website is a nice, creative layout. Also colorful writing and something that makes the site look like fun helps.

try to avoid using lots of animated gifs.
avoid tiled backgrounds.
keep the layout simple. Main page with welcome text, content separated into links, and good navigation. If necessary keep the main links on the page at all times, makes it easy to get around.
keep images at smaller file size, and avoid LARGE images, unless they open in a new blank window.

you have to have a pretty unique site on the web to get people to go back to it. its tough...think about what you would like to see when you go to a page and go from there.

Also, i would suggest using an ad-free site .. that will turn most people off right away.

ScantyNebula brought up a lot of good points. I used to have animated gif's but as my links went on, tehe gif's got too much so I replaced them with silver paws.

Try to avoid colours that clash. I can't stand it when there's a polka-dotted background and then rainbow coloured letters

Don't make it look crowded. If you have lots of stuff, post links.

I love those little number things that say how many people have visited the site lol
