    Panic!!!

Ok, how long have your cats hidden without you being able to find them? I can't find Tiger Lilly! I've been looking for 3 hours....I've looked everywhere? I'm starting to panic. How could she have gotten out? *wringing hands*

I thought Mimi was lost once (I'm sure I posted about it here at the time). I was scared to death!!! Turned out she had spent the night under the kitchen sink!!! Check all of your kitchen cabinets and closets, even drawers, real closely.

I hope you find her soon!!!

Kitten crisis 2003 is over! I don't know where the heck she was, but she just "teleported" back into the bedroom. She's looking at me like, "What's all the fuss about?" Whew.

    Yes, check EVERYwhere!
Even the places where ..."She couldn't *possibly be*!"
THOSE are the places where she probably IS!

On the off chance she DID get out ~
Put a bowl of food out on the porch or steps to draw her close to the house.

But keep looking inside - Boots can *vanish* inside the house, totally ignore frantic pleadings to "Come out, come out, wherever you are!"
...and then saunter into view an hour later with a "Oh, you callin *ME*?" look plastered all over his face!

And he's also spent an entire day locked in the baffroom klozit more than once! SOMEday he'll learn to at least *MeOOOOOw* when he's called!

LOL!! Tiger Lilly, I guess your hiding place is still safe since your mom doesn't know where you were hiding!!! I'm just glad she can quit worrying now!!

Phred, I'm with you. Couldn't they just meow real loud or something??

Abby and Hanna do that all the time - really scares me. I know they hide up inside my boxspring, the liner underneath is flimsy and even though I have stapled the thing back on, they manage to rip it down so they can sneak in.

For Hanna, I trained her to come when I ring a little bell. It is a bell off one of her old fetching toys and she loves that sound. So when I can't find her, I get the bell and ring it until she comes running. I don't know if this will work forever, but for now she comes when I ring.

My sister had a kitten who crawled under the sink and found an opening that led to the apartment next door. Imagine the next-door neighbor's surprise when she came home to find a kitten in the living room of her second-floor apartment!

My cats hide too. But as soon as I rattle some food bags, they all come stampeding into the room, meowing. Then I can account for all of them

Joxer once went "missing" on me when he was just a little kitten. We searched and searched and started to get that panicky feeling even though we knew that he HAD to be in the house somewhere.

We found him sleeping in the shadow of a table lamp (he is solid grey).

Glad that Tiger Lilly is back!!!

Funny thing is that we just had a discussion like this one in my own cat forum (http://pub14.ezboard.com/fkirstensbr...icID=728.topic). Some kitties tend to disappear mysteriously and then be back as if nothing has happened. Scary stuff!

Four hours! Pepper, our guest cat, hid between the wall in the closet and a storage container 3 inches away. Seven people could not find her, on Christmas Day!

How big of search parties have you all had?

I'm thinking of changing her name to Nightcrawler. She just seemed to bamf in with the slight hint of brimstone. LOL
