Give us a hint!
I think it is the Maremma. If so this dog lives its life with the herd, or flock, and by doing that it keeps the wolves, foxes and other preditors away. I think they originated in.....no I'm not going to say as I am not 100% sure.
Mich
its australian
They said ...'not to look up' so I haven't, but I really did not think they came from here

Is it a Stumpy Tail Cattle dog?
Maremmas are large, white and have long fur. they look a great deal like a great pyrenees or a kuvaszh.I think it is the Maremma.
STCD have bob-tails. Hence the nameIs it a Stumpy Tail Cattle dog?

I just did some research, and apparently Australia has only contributed five dog breeds - The Australian cattle dog, the australian kelpie, the Australian terrier, and the Australian silky terrier. None of these are this breedOriginally posted by cocker_luva

if you have done your research, then who is anyone to argue with you, as I surelydon't know how many breeds there are here....except we have a Queensland cattle dog that is not "The Australlian Blue Cattle dog". I am over 50 and it has been around longer than me. I will have to get some rellies to take a photo.

I did research too, and found that Austrailia has only 5 breeds too. You only wrote 4 of them. The other is the Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog.Originally posted by wolfsoul

Yep wolfsoul's right..there are only 5. The australian cattle dog, the australian kelpie, the australian terrier, the australian silky terrier and the stumpy tail cattle dog.
Mich, what is the difference between the "queensland cattle dog" and the "australian blue cattle dog"?
Kai [Sheltie], Kaedyn [Sheltie], Keeva [Malinois], Kwik [Malinois]
The Queensland Cattle dog does not come in shades of caramel and blue with darker blue like the Australian Cattle Dog
The Queensland Cattle dog is either dark brown and white or dark blue and white. They usually have a thin white stripe from their forehead to the end of their nose and their body is covered in a mesh of spots on a white background. no one has made them a kennel breed, but they all look the same either dark brown, or navy. My Mum is 84 years old, and she had them on the farm as a kid. Good dogs. I know I can get one of my relatives to take a photo of one of the brown ones and send it to me............when I get it I will show you. ok?
Mich
wow, good on you, ha ha ha! the stumpy tail. My sister has one called "Tosca". and it is true they are born with a little stump for a tail.
