There were two cats rescued from the shelter on Saturday that were long timers! Hatley, a dominant ornage female went home and Chili, a long haired version of Tinky!!

Its so exciting to see them in a new, forever home!!!

It's such a rewarding experience to see furkids find furr-ever homes! I heard that Mike (now Micah) went home with a wonderful family!
I'm so glad that Hatley and Chili found good homes! Congrats to all 3 of the families and their newest fur members!

Great news!! I know the satisfaction you are feeling because I volunteer at a shelter as well. Time to celebrate.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

When I went into the Dearborn Animal Shelter, I also signed up to volunteer. I gave myself 6 months away from animal rescue one I moved out here.

The woman I spoke with said that I don't have to feel guilty about the animals there being euthanized because they stay there till they get homes (euthanization is NOT an option). There was a beautiful 8 year old black male that I held. Unfortunately he hated other cats (he kept growling and hissing at the other cats).

Can't wait to pick Georgie up today!!

Isn't it a wonderful feeling when they find homes! YIPPEEEE
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

YAY for all of you! I wish I had time to volunteer my services again to the RSPCA but unfortunately I will just have to keep Bastet company and hear/read all your wonderful stories

Keep up the good work guys. You may never hear thankyou from the rescue animals but their unconditional love is WAY more than enough!

    yeah new homes

it is indeed neat to hear those old timers getting homes at last, i had in my mind to pick the least prettiest cat really, as long as it had good personality, but it did not work out that way, i got both a pretty girl and tons of personality,to me they are all gorgeous anyhow.

I agree - I was at our shelter this morning picking up a stray which I had spayed. Whilst I was there I signed up for the volunteer program - but to assist with fundraising functions, manning their table at fetes and fairs etc - I can't help at the shelter - it would just upset me too much!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!
