new virus i thought you might want to know about

hey i got an e-mail warning me about a new virus.

Subject:the WORST virus EVER!!!!!!!!!! CNN annouced

you probably have seen this on TV but better safe than sorry!

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by microsft
as the most destructive ever!!!! this virus was discovered this afternoon (i got this yesterday on march 23rd)

by McAfee and no vaccine yet!been delveloped.
destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk,where vital information for its fuctioning are stored.

This virus acts in the following matter: it sends iself automatically to all your contacts on your list with the title "a card for you"

as soon as the virtual card is opened the compter freezes so the user has to reboot.When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are press,the virus destroys Sector Zero,thus permentaly destroying the hard disk.Yesterday (thats the 22nd) in just a few hrs caused a panic in new york,according to the news broardcast by CNN.this ALERT was recieved by a Microsoft employee itself.

SO DON'T OPEN ANY MAILS WITH SUBJECT: A VIRTUAL CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as you get it DELETE IT EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE SENDER

Scarlett,

I make it a point of NEVER opening anything from people I don't recognize. I have never had a problem. But I'm going to e-mail my friends to let them know of the virus.

I checked with Symantec, (virus protection software)and this is a hoax. I've attached the thread (http://securityresponse.symantec.com...d.for.you.html).

My computer nerd son (his words, not mine) gave me a link to Symantec and everytime I get something questionable, I go to them or UrbanLegends.com and check.
