Western Washingtonians, please help
I am new here, love this site. Obviously full of very devoted pet owners. I was hoping that maybe someone here could help me.
I am in a horrible situation. I have a beautiful 8 year old Doberman female. I have had her all her life, and she is my dearest friend. But, last fall I was forced to move into an apartment which takes dogs, but I found out too late profiles breeds and does not accept Dobermans among others. I had a friend watch her for me for the time being, as by fall this year I will be moved out of here and into a home where I can keep my dogs. My friend was going to foster my Dobe until then. But, she is military family and they are being restationed and she can no longer watch Shasta.
I have been trying my best to find another foster home for her amongst family and friends, but no one can commit to that long. I offered to provide her feed and continue her vet care, even pick her up and take her on regular outings with me, so long as she had a warm place to sleep and people to be around when I couldn't. But, time is running out and if I can't find a foster home, I need to find a permanent home or take her to a shelter.
I really don't want to take her to the shelter. I need to know where my girl goes. I would like to be involved with the adoption and be able to sleep at night because I know I did my best to place her in a loving home that will care for her the rest of her life. I have listed her on Petfinders, I have put out posters. I have contacted several breed rescues in my area. The paper work for those is understandably a long process, but I feel like I am getting nowhere with it.
Shasta is a healthy, active and loving dog. She is great with all ages of children, other dogs, even cats to a point (she will chase them if they run). She is a perfect dog, a lady in the house, clean, well trained. She just needs a home, somehow. If you know of anyone in the Western Washington area who would like to help her, please email or private message me. I really appreciate it.
Thank you.
Job 12:7-10 : But ask the animals and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you, which of all these does not know, that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. (NIV)
