    Funny Bassett!!!! :D :D

I dropped Bassett off at the vet this morning to have her boarded while I'm away over the weekend. She was NOT impressed! I called this afternoon to check on her, and to see if she was going to need a chest drain. Good news - the vet thinks we can hold off for bit! The longer between each drain, the better. Anyway, Sue (the vet tech) said, "We are just letting her calm down for now. She's very cranky. Every time I walk by her cage she sticks her paw out, hits me a couple times, and growls" At first I thought, oh no she's clawing them! But no, she's just giving a few "I'm mad at you pats" and voicing her displeasure! That's my baby - back to her snotty self!!! Even Sue said, "this is the Bassett we know and love!!!"

    Oh the poor baby!!!!!!

See ya tomorrow. I'm quite tired today so will probably be in bed by 11pm. You can still call tonight anyway and leave a message...OK??

Good news about the chest drain

Naomi, this is great news. I'm so glad that Bassett's chest doesn't have to be drained just yet and that she's back to her old self. Have fun at the cat show.

Yeah Bassett!!! I'm so glad you're feeling better and you haven't lost your spunk. And it's good to know the vet techs are happy to see her old personality back too - even if it does mean she is batting at them to show she's not happy with her situation.

Bassett is home, and acting like her old self. She came out from the back of the vet's office hollering away! That's my girl! Now she's hidden away somewhere sleeping off her traumatic experience

Thanks for all the kind wishes!

Bassett has settled in again. She's ignoring me - punishment for leaving her I did notice though that she loved me a lot when I had a tuna sandwich for lunch!!!
