There was an update on some of the puppies seized and
held by A C while the trial of the store owner was going on.
It's kind of sad what misery this uncaring woman has caused.

    Story is here;

    Seized Puppies Find New Homes
Animals Taken From South Side Pet Store

    POSTED: 3:22 p.m. EST March 14, 2003

INDIANAPOLIS -- Six Labrador retrievers confiscated from a south side pet store owner have been adopted, officials announced Friday.

Animal control officials said earlier in the week that time was running out for the dogs.

After the plight of the dogs was made public, enough people responded with offers of new homes.

The dogs were seized from Nutt & Butt Puppys in December.

The owner, Angela Cummings, was accused of neglecting dogs at her store and of selling animals with health problems, such as congenital defects, infections and respiratory problems, RTV6 reported.

Officials said the animals needed special care because they were not properly socialized and were be a little aggressive.

The shelter took extra steps to screen potential owners to make sure they could handle the dogs.

Woman Fined For Dog Neglect Now Selling Pets In Fla.
Orlando Store -- Like Defunct Indy Shop -- Cited For Violations

    POSTED: 1:59 p.m. EST November 26, 2003
    UPDATED: 10:45 p.m. EST November 26, 2003

A woman who was fined for neglecting dogs at an Indianapolis pet store is now managing a store that is facing similar allegations in Orlando, Fla.

Angela Cummings is managing The Puppy Store, which Florida officials have cited with multiple counts of animal neglect, ABC affiliate WFTV reported this week.

A Florida woman told WFTV that Cummings recently sold her a dog that had mange, a congenital defect that requires expensive veterinary care. Despite a Florida law that requires the store to cover part of the vet bill, the store didn't pay anything, WFTV reported.

Cummings ran an Indianapolis pet store, Nut & Butt Puppys (pictured, right), until it was closed by animal control officers in December. The city revoked the store's license Jan. 10.

Indianapolis authorities said Cummings kept the animals in unsanitary conditions. Several of the store's dogs were sick, but they still were made available for sale, investigators said.

In February, an Indianapolis judge fined Cummings $6,000 for care and treatment violations and for operating the store without a license.

At the Orlando store this month, a WFTV reporter asked Cummings about the Indianapolis allegations.

"All of it is untrue," Cummings said.
