Monty Sloan has several really nice black and white prints. Here is one of my faves. This is a picture of Chinook, who was alpha wolf when I volunteered there. This image was also used on various Wolf Park T-shirts and other clothing items.

He has since passed away, but he was one handsome guy!

Here is a really good face shot of Altair. She was Chinook's mate, and of course, alpha female. She passed away from cancer. I just loved her markings, and especially her eyes!

This is Karin. She is still at Wolf Park, however she has been removed from the main pack and put into a smaller pack due to rivalry and injury.

Kiri was one of my favorites at the time of my volunteering. He was sorta the "class clown" and play instigator. He also enjoyed "mouthing" people, which gave him the nickname "black jaws of death"! lol

WOW, What Great pics !!! I had forgotten that you worked
at Wolf Park. Is that in Battleground, Ind.? I've heard so much
about the Park, but have never visited . Did you get to work
with these particular wolfs? Very Beautiful animals.

Karen, those are absolutely beautiful pictures of the wolves.

Can you tell us more about what it was like while you were volunteering. What did you do?

Thanks - everyone - for some wonderful pictures!

Yes It is in Battleground, IN! You definitely have to visit sometime. Go on a Friday evening or Sat afternoon if you can. Yes, the wolves that I have attached pictures of I actually got to interact with.
Volunteering was pretty interesting. I really did a lot of grunt work, but that's ok. It consisted of cleaning out the pens (but that meant going in with the wolfies! ) which could be a pretty nasty job. Poop...no problem...it was the deer entrails and innards that got to me! I also directed people toward the bleachers for the lectures and helped with parking and the gift shop. I typically went on Friday nights for Howl Night, and Saturday mornings were clean up and sat afternoons is the wolf/bison demonstration. I learned a lot, and it's a really neat place. They have many different seminars and of course Monty Sloan! HA! It really was a rewarding experience for me, and I would absolutely love to go back...maybe for the wolf behavior seminars or the photo seminar!

    **hugs**

    Karen,

I would love to go and see the wolves in person. Maybe this
summer, I will. I'd like to go for "Howl Night", then stay over
& see them again on Saturday. I know they are not caged,
but kept in fenced in areas of the park. Right? Did they seem
"happy" where they were. I know that's a subjective opinion,
but did they seem to act normally? Does Wolf Park do rescue?

    ownerof3dogs,

The picture of the Doberman is Awesome indeed. My puppy
Instructor has a Dobie named Shakespeare who has titles in
Obedience,Agility and Schutzhund. She brings him to puppy
classes sometimes. A gorgeous dog & a rescue dog she trained
    herself. Beautiful dog.
