    Need New Foster Home...W/O Cats!

OK, so I take it back. Turns out they are not so good with cats after all. If they go after my precious kitty one more time, they are out of here.

If anyone knows of any foster homes that may be willing to take on two (or even one) foster dogs who seem to want to hurt my Min, please let me know.

Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't well socialize either dog, and they both could use some training, but they are really, really friendly, sweet, cuddly, and lickie towards me. They have some dominence issues with other dogs, but are generally good towards other dogs. They just are acting so agressively towards Minion and their former owner didn't crate train them, so they are not good in crates.

I know that I got myself into this mess, but if any of you Pet Talkers would be able to help in any way I would appreciate it.

For now, they are closed off from the rest of the house in my guest bedroom.

Minion is by best little friend and I could not love him any more. I am worried sick that I am housing these animals who want to hurt him.

    Leslie,

I have emailed Rosie at Southside Animal Shelter to see if she could take them or if she knows anyone that could. I will let you know as soon as she gets back to me.

I can't be much help, but I wanted to say that I am sorry things aren't working out. Your baby's safety comes first!

    Leslie I salute you for your attempt to help these two. Unfortunately it didn't work out and you have to think of dear little Minion first. He is your special kitty, and I have fallen in love with him from afar. Anything that puts him in harm's way is just not worth the risk. I wish I could be of some help here, but all I can do is lend my support to you and tell you that you are making the right decision. I hope these poor pupsters can find a suitable foster home and ultimately find their forever homes. {{{hugs to you little Minion}}}

    Leslie,

Unfortunately I did not see your previous pm last night until
today. I've just sent a reply with a suggestion. I also have 4
indoor only kitties who would not be thrilled by a cat aggressive
dog. After you read the pm, if you use my suggestion, please
let me know how that goes. All the Best with this problem.Liz.

p.s. If all else fails, and you cannot get any help with these
two dogs, well, it's no reflection on your love or devotion in
trying to help them by giving it a try, even if it doesn't work
out & they are then turned over to the MHS. You are doing
everything humanly possible to do. What more can be asked
of you? Hugs & Best wishes in your efforts. Liz & Moki.

    Leslie,

Just wondered if there's any news? Hope Minion, Kersey &
Graham are all o.k. This situation with the two dogs does sound
unmanageable. It must worry you to death to have to be always
on guard for Minion. I hope you were able to reach Rosie, or
at least found some help with this situation somewhere.

I really think this owner wasn't truthful with you. Please update
when you can. Hugs from Liz & Moki.

How did it go at the adoption event??

I know what you are going through because we had a problem with Bandit and Shiloh and once it included Killian (and I did so want to adopt Bandit myself! ) Even the best intentions can be destroyed when dogs don't get along with each other or the cats. You are not responsible for their dislikes.

    I hope everything is ok!

Leslie, I'm so sorry these fosters are not working out. I agree with everyone. You tried, but your babies safety comes first.

Best of luck at finding them a new temp or permanent home.

I hope you can find some alternative homes for them. I can understand how you feel, Keegan probably thinks I favor Kylie over her b/c I am constantly making sure things don't get to out of hand. Honestly, you have to protect your own!!

The dogs are hopefully safe and sound at a no-kill shelter in Ohio. You can read about it HERE

Thanks for asking Minion is doing great, and thrilled to pieces that those cat-chasing dogs are gone. He is back to his sweet, adorable, precioius self (he was in hiding while the dogs were here...understandablly so)
