Now wait a minute, who said I wanted to be cured of being a Hippofile? I am danged proud of it!! Though the DH does wonder why he is second fiddle to all the horses of the world. Geez, they get WAY more kisses and hugs than he does on any given day. Hmm, maybe I should consider if this is going too far?....Nah! Who am I kiddin'? Everybody knows, even as much as I love my DH, I would rather sleep in the barn than in the house. I just wish I could get him to join me out there!

Sorry I haven't been as active lately. It is SPRING in my parts and I am horsen' around as much as possible. Got some reallly nice ponies under me these days.

Job 12:7-10 : But ask the animals and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you, which of all these does not know, that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. (NIV)

Oh, no, like I said, it is SPRING here and I am out with the horses all day and as late as I can most days. Been grazing my beauties for several hours a day to get them ready for the big day when they get to stay out in the big pasture!

Okay, we need new questions.... let's see. Can't think just yet, let me pound my brain for a few.

I am going to be taking about a week and a half off to write my books, so I will be on here a bit more for a while.

O.K.....Lets' see if we can answer some questions:

Name the parts on an English Saddle

What is the breed of dog used in foxhunting????

What is the name of a series of poles on the ground..set at 18"apart?????

Can anyone name the class in show jumping where the degree of difficulty of the jump earns you the most points???and you have your choice of which jumps to jump to accrue the most points in said class???

Name the class in show jumping that is not only held outside, but includes jumps such as The Bank,The Grob,Double Ditches and your every day Water jump????

Where was The World Cup held this Year??????

    Hi Deli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a couple of answers for you...

I do believe that Foxhounds are used in Foxhunting.

Are these the poles you are talking about
CAVALETTI (Italian) meaning ground bars or rails standing firm on low stands. Schooling over cavalletti is important for both horse and rider. Using cavaletti you can work at the walk, trot or canter without worrying about plain poles and rails that move very easily when touched and can be dangerous as they roll away.

I will get back to you on the Show Jumping questions, I am drawing a blank on them now but I can picture them both!

    Good Guess, Vermontcat.....
However, when you combine a cross country course (Grob,Bank,Double Ditches) with a stadium course,Water Jump...
You get what is known as a "Derby".....

The Rhode Island Jumping Derby...held Labor Day weekend at Glen Farm,Portsmouth,Rhode Island.....

The Derby at Hickstead...(10'6" Bank!!! ) are the two best examples....

I will now check out Dog General...Gotta see 'em pics!!!!!!
