Dearest Sparky, how delightful to meet you, a distinguished senior gentleman Jack Russell Terrier! You are so handsome, with that white fur with colorful patches and that sweet face with those perky ears and lovely big brown eyes. And you have such a great story to tell! Your dear people and you adopted each other two years ago. Before that, you were an exterminator's assistant, detecting insects in people's homes. It's so good to know you are retired from that job now! You love playing with your ball. You also enjoy napping, especially on someone's lap. You're blind now, but you use your sense of smell to navigate. You've kept your work habit of sniffing out every nook and cranny of your forever home. You still have that terrier high energy, enjoying long walks no matter the weather. On warm days you like to sit outside and sunbathe. You're very friendly, and you love anyone who gives you attention. You and your dear people all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Sparky, on being chosen Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear people and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
