Sweet Calico Sammy!
Dearest Sammy, what an oh-so-sweet young Calico lady you are! You are absolutely gorgeous, with that colorful, soft-looking Calico-trademark fur in such an interesting design, and that sweet face with its beautiful two-tone mask and cute pink nose and lovely big golden eyes. Thank you for sharing that great photo with us. You look so comfortable and content relaxing on that pretty blanket! I wish I could reach through the screen and across the big lake to Wisconsin and pet you, and pet your two "kittens," too. I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Meowmie will pet you all for me .
And what a story you have to tell! You met your dear Meowmie-to-be by pure chance, rushing across a street as she drove by. She stopped to make sure she hadn't hit an animal. Sure enough, it was you! She thought you'd had kittens, but they weren't with you. She took you home and fed you, and you gobbled up a big meal. She took you back the next day to find your kittens, but there was no sign of them. We are very sorry if you had had kittens and they'd passed away in the cold night. She brought you back home to stay with her and your new Daddy! And soon after, you all adopted two kittens from a neighbor's cat. At first you were not sure about them, but a few days later you were feeding them as if they were your own! You've been a great mother to them, and they're now about seven months old. They're surely weaned by now, but you still let them suckle on you. Meowmie says you're "an amazing cat, mommy, and friend!" You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Sammy, on being chosen Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Meowmie and Daddy and two kittens and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. We know your dear Angel kittens are rejoicing with you at the Rainbow Bridge!
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
