    Brave, beautiful Buttons!

Hi! My name is Buttons! I was born in the wild. I lived on the streets in an apartment complex. The nice people there fed me everyday though. Even though I had to deal with the rain, snow, etc. at least I had food to eat. There was one man who kept trying to catch me from the time I was a little one. He never could. It was such fun making him think he was going to finally get me! I finally decided to let him get a little closer. I let him pet me then I ran away. It felt kind of good having someone pet me. So I let him do it again. Then he tried to pick me up! I did not like that! I got away from him.

One very cold winter night he came out to feed me and he grabbed me and picked me up. I could not get away. He took me into his apartment. It was really warm in there, but I was scared. He made me stay in until morning. The next night he brought me in again. I started spending the nights in his apartment when it was raining or cold. He got me some toys to play with. He had some other cats for me to play with. I became friends with them. They told me how nice it was to live there.

One morning when he came to get me to put me back outside I ran into the back room and hid. I did not want to go back outside! That was over eight years ago. He has not tried to put me back out again. I am very happy with my new brothers and sisters and my new Dad!
Hello, Buttons in Ohio! Happy Cat of the Day!

What a gorgeous kitty you are! I like your fluffy black and white fur, and your Maine Coon good looks!

You are such a brave kitty! You allowed one particular man to feed you and gradually get a little closer and closer to you, until finally he picked you up and you couldn't get away. Even though you were inside, you were frightened. You allowed him to make you an overnight guest when it was raining or cold, with fellow kitties and toys. You got used to being an inside kitty, until finally you hid when it was time to go back outside! Hurray, you bravely became an inside kitty!

Now you live with your new Dad, your brothers and sisters! You can look out the window and see what is going on, maybe checking on the birds or the outdoor weather. You have toys and best of all, you are a loved kitty! PURRRRR-fect!

Happy, happy Cat of the Day to dear Buttons!

Dearest Buttons, you are brave and beautiful indeed! You're absolutely stunning, with that long, fluffy Tuxedo fur that looks so very soft and that sweet face with the pink nose and ears and those lovely big golden eyes. Thank you for sharing that great photo with us. You are such a handsome fellow! And what a gorgeous shot that is, of you sitting up in your nice warm window looking out over the snow-covered outdoor surroundings. I wish I could reach through the screen and down to Columbus to pet you, and pet your kitty brothers and sisters, too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Dad will pet you all for me .

And what a terrific story you have to tell! I knew it was going to turn out wonderfully, but you really had me in suspense for a while. You were born in the wild, and you lived on the streets in an apartment complex. Nice people there fed you every day, so at least you didn't go hungry! One man there kept trying to catch you for a long time, starting when you were very little. Finally he succeeded, and he brought you inside where it was nice and warm. You were very scared that first night! He let you out in the morning, then continued bringing you inside at night. He gave you toys, and there were other cats for you to play with, who told you how nice it was living there. Finally, the morning came when you would not go back outside! And you have been a delightful indoor cat ever since, happy with your new Dad and new brothers and sisters. You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Buttons, on being chosen Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Dad and brothers and sisters and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

    Beautiful Buttons!!!

Hi Buttons! Happy Cat of the Day, sweetheart!

Oh my goodness! What a breathtakingly beautiful Maine Coon x boy you are, Buttons! Your long, flowing, Oreo colored coat, your sparkling, yellow eyes are simply stunning! And how heartwarming is your rags to riches backstory!

I cringe to think a kitty as beautiful as you was once homeless, ekeing out a life on the streets with nowhere to go to seek shelter from the rain, snow and heat! Thankfully a host of humans did their part, watching over you and keeping you fed until finally, one cold winter day, your Dad to be was able to scoop you up, providing you with safe refuge, plenty of food and a warm place to sleep! Yes, it took a bit of time before you would make it official, before you would realize how truly wonderful the indoor life (complete with a doting Dad and fur sibs!) could be! But once you did there was no looking back! No more days roaming the streets for you; you were home, and inside, for good!

We are so thankful to your Dad for his persistence and patience, giving you all the time you needed to accept him and the indoor life! I think all along you knew that this was the human destined to be yours, and what a heavenly match it turned out to be! Your Dad is one lucky guy, having been blessed a furkid as beautiful, as special as you, Buttons; having known your love and companionship the past 8 wonderful years! Life truly is good!!!

Thanks for taking some time out of your busy day to paw off a note to us, Buttons, sharing with us your heartwarming rescue story and the beautiful bond of love and trust you and your Dad share! I hope you're treated to a very special Cat of the Day celebration, sweetheart...playing with your toys and snuggling with your fur sibs; receiving tons of cuddles; being loved and pampered to pieces by your proud and devoted Dad! Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you, beautiful Buttons, our very special and most deserving Cat of the Day, EVERY day!!! Love to all of your fur bros and sisters, too!!!

    Stunning!!!
