Five years
Five years today
Five years ago
A flickering light in the world
The flame which
Lit my heart and knew my soul
Snuffed out.

Part of me will ever
Be frozen in that moment
But the world has moved on
Time has moved on
A baby not yet born in that moment
Is starting Kindergarten this fall

And even I have moved
Have aged, have grown
Have more grey hairs
But found a new Home
Started a new life
In a new and happy place

But every day
In ways large and small
I still miss him
And this day
Of all days
More than most
I grieve.
