Precious Jenny!
Dearest Jenny, what a beautiful Border Collie/Labrador mix lady you are! That blonde coat is so pretty and looks so very soft, and you have the sweetest face with those lovely big brown eyes and what looks like a big smile (and probably is!). I wish I could reach through the screen and across the ocean to Essex, England and pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved friend Lauren will pet you for me .
And what a story you have to tell! You've been with your dear family for fourteen years now, since before your dear friend Lauren was even born! You had been abandoned in a gutter, cold and hungry, and I'm horrified to think of the purely evil alleged-person who did that. I'm so very glad and grateful that you were rescued by the R.S.P.C.A., and I thank those wonderful people who saved you. And then Lauren's Mum and Dad went to get a dog, saw you in the corner, and knew you were the one, saying that's the perfect little Dog for our family! Lauren was born not long after, and she's known you her entire life. You're the best dog ever, part of her family, and you've taught her so much. You and she and Mum and Dad all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Jenny, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear Lauren and Mum and Dad and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
