    Super Sam and Friends!

Good morning, Sam, Earl and Lucky! Happy "three for Thursday" Pets of the Day!

Yes, today you are the man in charge, Sam, but how could we not honor your two amigos, your best buddies as well! What a breathtakingly beautiful trio you, Earl and Lucky make; simply stunning! Your dapple grey coats are gorgeous! But oh, those huge, browns are total heart-melters!

I have loved draft horses, the "working breeds," Percherons and Shires for years; truly the gentle giants of horsedom! My neighbor down the road has both Percherons and Shires and what a magnificent sight it is, watching them gallop about the pasture! And just like you three, come fall, out come the wagons, the lot of them taking turns treating the neighborhood kids to hay rides! And come winter, they are the stars of our annual Christmas stroll, treating kids of all ages to a ride around town, holiday bells hanging from their necks! But to think you boys also shine in the show ring is almost too much Percheron perfection to comprehend!

Well, we are working horses. We like to take humans for hayrides, or sleigh rides in winter. We also enjoy pulling for carriages rides, work in the fields and going into the show ring.
But just as you say, Sam, nothing beats chowing down on that daily bale of hay, those 15 lbs () of sweet feed, those yummy carrots and apples! Ahh yes, life truly is good, and not only for you three beauties, but for your family as well! They truly hit the trifecta the day you boys came into their lives! Beautiful inside and out, just as special as can be, that you are!

Thanks for starting my day off with a BIG smile, Sam! Meeting you, Earl and Lucky this morning has been such a treat! Enjoy your well earned day of honor...grazing in your pasture, munching on crunchy apple and carrots, being loved and pampered to pieces, treated to all your hearts desires and more by your family and all of your adoring friends and fans! Lots of love and hugs to you, beautiful Sam, Earl and Lucky, our very special and most deserving Pets of the Day, EVERY day!!!

    Gorgeous!!!

Admiring your Percherons from Le Perche in France

    Hi,
I live in Le Perche in Lower Normandy, the origin of the Percheron horse. It's wonderful to see your gorgeous Percherons in the US. There are a lot of horses in this area and some of my friends have Percherons. One friend gives carriage rides through the nearby forest. The carriage is pulled by two beautiful Percherons. One is dappled and one is all black and will stay that color. Percherons are also used in this area for logging and clearing forests of dead trees. In other parts of France, Percherons are used instead of tractors to work in the vineyards.
This weekend is the National Percheron Championship in France at the Haras National du Pin, not far from me. The number and quality of Percheron horses is just amazing. I hope you can visit Le Perche some day.

Sam, Earl and Lucky are beautiful - thanks for sharing them with all of us!

Dearest Sam, you are super indeed! What a beautiful Dapple Grey Percheron draft horse you are, and how nice to see you with your beautiful Dapple Grey Percheron buddies Earl and Lucky! You all look so sweet in your "Are we going to eat soon???" pose there. And how great it is that you are all working horses! You keep busy schedules, pulling for carriages rides, working in the fields, and going into the show ring. In winter you like to take humans for hayrides or sleigh rides. And best of all, you love to eat, a bale of hay a day and about 15 pounds of sweet feed, not to mention lots of apples and carrots! You guys and your dear people all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Sam, on being chosen Pet of the Day! We hope you and your dear Earl and Lucky and people and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats, with a special serving of apples and carrots!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Congratulations, Sam, on being POTD! You, Earl and Lucky are "The Three Musketeers"! It's so sweet how you 3 still enjoy each other's company. It's heartwarming to think of going on festive sleigh rides and fun carriage rides with you. You work hard and deserve ALL the apples and treats you want (yummy). Sending all best wishes to "The Three Musketeers" for continued happy, healthy, fun, safe lives, Sweet Boys! XOXO http://www.guineapigsrfun.net
