Dearest Tigger, you are beautiful! You're absolutely adorable, looking down at us from up high there, resting your head on your paws. That Tabby fur is so pretty and looks so soft, and you have the sweetest face with that cute brick-color nose and those lovely big green eyes. You look so wise and comfortable up there, so contented with your life and home and family! I wish I could reach through the screen and down to Fort Worth to pet you, and pet your dear kitty housemate Max, too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrents will pet you for me .
And what a wonderful story you have to tell! Your previous "owners" dumped you at the shelter because you were sick and "too big," and they just didn't want you any longer. (At least they brought you to the shelter rather than just abandoning you on the street.) You met your Real Purrrents-to-be there, and you all adopted each other! Now you are living in your Purrrmanent Purrrfect home with them and dear Max, who had been traumatized in his earlier life and was hostile and aggressive. After you joined the family, you and Max bonded, and he has learned to be a "normal, loving cat." You are soul mates who have saved each other from a horrible fate! You follow your dear Purrrents around during their morning ritual, and you welcome them with loads of affection when they get home. You and they and Max all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Tigger, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Max and Purrrents and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
