Dearest Mary, you are utterly adorable! What a gorgeous lady you are, with that sleek, glossy black fur that looks so very soft and that sweet face with those lovely HUGE eyes! You are so cute under the Christmas tree, gazing out at us with that wide-eyed look of love. I wish I could reach through the screen and up over to Minnesota to pet you, and pet your doggie buddies, too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Meowmie will pet you all for me .
And what a delightful story you have to tell! Your dear Meowmie-to-be was grieving the loss of her precious 17-year-old cat to cancer. One day she decided to look at cats up for adoption at Petsmart, as good comforting therapy for her in her grief. She had no idea of adopting one, but someone had an idea of adopting her! You stuck your paw out of the cage and grabbed her. She took one look at you and fell in love! And it turned out that her name is Elizabeth Mary and yours Mary Elizabeth, so this was clearly a match meant to be. She knew this was faith and fate at work. You adopted each other, and Home you went!
Now you are her little shadow, following her everywhere. You are quite the leaper, leaping right over the dogs as if there are springs in your little legs! You are very special in every way. You and Meowmie love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Mary, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Meowmie and doggie pals and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
