Congratulations on being Dog of the Day
You went from a farm to a sailboat.
Quite a change, but you did it.
    Celebrate your special day

    No lifevest?

    Hi Bijou,

Ronit and Orli here. Orli is a Lurcher (Kelpie-Whippet) and both she and Ronit wear their dog life vests (sized to fit each of them) when we are on friends' sailboats, even if we are just at the dock. When we sail the Salish Sea, everyone (people too) wears life vests.

We all hope that you wear yours too!

Plus we all hope you go on land and get to run around in an off-leash area. If you were up here, we'd meet you at Magnuson OLA (if you're on Lake Washington, you can sail up to the Magnuson OLA water access and dingy over to the doggie shore) and Orli and you can herd each other.

    Stay safe!

    Fair Winds Bijou!

Ahoy, beautiful Bijou! Happy Dog of the Day!

Wow! What a life! From herding cattle on the farm to Mighty Ship's Dog, in charge of security; riding the waves with the wind whistling through your fur, the world at your beck and call (or as we like to say here on Cape Cod, the world is your oyster)! You truly are living the good life, Bijou, my dream life in fact, captaining that sailboat! And while you may no longer have the chance to herd cattle, as my girl Peach would tell you, much more fun chasing seagulls and pelicans...or in her case, sandpipers!

What a wonderful life it us indeed. And how very blessed your family is, having a beautiful Aussie Cattle Dog Captain, best friend and protector, shipmate in you, Bijou! You're the best!!!

Thanks for the BIG smiles, gorgeous girl! I hope you're enjoying a very special day of celebration, chasing those pesky seagulls; defending your ship and crew; being loved and pampered to pieces; treated to all your heart desires and more! Lots of love, hugs and smooches to you, beautiful Bijou, our very special and most deserving Dog of the Day, EVERY day! Calm seas and safe sailing, sweetheart!

    Beautiful!!!

Dearest Bijou, you are stunning.. What a gorgeous Australian Cattle Dog you are! And what an exciting life you lead, as MSD - Mighty Ship's Dog - on a sailboat, herding pelicans and seagulls rather than cattle! (Maybe consider one of those doggie life-vests?) You and your dear person love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled sailboat home you share!

Congratulations, darling Bijou, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear person and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Sail safely strong Bijou! It's amazing how your life has transformed from being the cute fur shepherd to a handsome fur sailor. And for that, it is just right you have crowned the Dog of the day, congratulations Bijou!
