    Duck and Cover

We are currently under a tornado warning. It has been thundering for a couple of hours now, and the amount of rain falling is incredible.
I have a raging river in my backyard and the drain pipes are overwhelmed.
I don't think that my house is in danger of getting flooded, but I'm a little nervous about it.
I can pack up the cats in a few minutes and leave if I have to.
All of this is supposed to continue into the night and it is only lunch time now!

    Thank you all!
It is still thundering and pouring rain. I haven't seen this much water in a long time.
I just checked the radar, and it looks like this system won't be out of here until about 9 pm.
Clover always had a thunderstorm phobia, but today, he is brave and he's sitting with me on couch.

Yes, I'm ok. Thank you all for your concerns!
It kept raining until early morning, and today was very windy, pushing the system out.
Other people were not as lucky, lots of water and storm damage. A tree fell on one of my co-worker's house, luckily she's ok. Lots of schools were closed today.
It was definitely a scary event.

I'm glad you are all okay, Heidi! I'm sorry for your co-worker and others who weren't so fortunate.

I talked to my neighbor today because it looked like the water rose up to their front stoop.
He told me that there was no damage and that this wasn't really that bad. Apparently, previous hurricanes dumped a lot more water.
And I thought this was as bad as it could get. Our area received 6 (!) inches of rain.
