Adorable Ellie!
Dearest Ellie, what an utterly precious young lady you are! You are adorable indeed in both of those great photos, and thank you for sharing them with us. How sweet you are, first lying there on your side on that white blanket with your legs and tail comfortably arranged, and then a closer shot of you looking straight at me! Your fur looks so soft and is so pretty with all those colors and, and what a sweet face you have with those lovely big eyes. I wish I could reach through the screen and over to Delta in British Columbia to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you for me .
And what a story you have to tell! It starts out very sad, with you and your brother being given to two teenage girls without their parents' consent. The parents called the pet store your Purrrson-to-be worked at, saying if they didn't find homes for you two, you'd be taken to the pound. We are so very glad and grateful that the pet store employee begged her parents to allow this little angel into their home! And they said yes, and HOME you went! We're sorry that your brother passed away because of the poor care he'd received. We're also very glad that the family who had neglected him and his family has been stripped of their right to own cats! (Is this enforceable? And if so, will it be enforced? I hope so, so very much!)
Now you are living the terrific life you deserve (and deserved all along)! You've grown into a huge family cat, 'one of the sisters' in your family. You have the most delightful Purrrsonality, making your dear Purrrsons smile with your antics and energy. You're out at the break of dawn, then back in time for a good cuddle and a movie. You love to chase bugs and your Purrrsons' hands, and to sleep with anyone and everyone. Your Purrrsons have all "fallen head over heals for this kitten," and you've become irreplaceable in their lives. You and they all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Ellie, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrsons and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. We know your brother Angel and all the Angels are rejoicing with you at the Rainbow Bridge!
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
